Sadly we really don’t know what we have. Sengun came in strong then was silassed very early on. Green is Green his play is bipolar & Bari is coming along but is still a project like. Tari’s injury this season leaves hope. Cam & Amen are both promising. We may already have the guy. I truly believe the team as a whole is much better than the record. The last few seasons were sabotaged by design. (Players playing out of position, players out for months with an ankle sprain, complete incompetence within the coaching staff) This season Green was literally one of the worst players in the league and started all season long. Benched daily but started the next game. (How can that not drag down the team?). The team was better with a player on a minimum contract for 2/3 of the season. We started winning when Green’s play improved. B U T Amen & Cam got some playing time, too. How good are we, really? No one knows.
I already said it once here. But wait until the Rockets are good. That entices players to ask to come to the team. That leverage is what you need. The players are also more desirable I think when a team is good than not. Next offseason you see where that Nets pick is at hopefully the Rockets win 50 games. You decide where the team goes with Green and Sengun. Great post and I agree be patient.
we have an unusually high number of players that could become stars. Amen and Sengun are the most certain in my opinion. Then comes green and Cam. There is even potential in Bari. Nothing to worry about. The guys mentioned here are typically at least 3 years older than our guys. So the comparison doesn't make much sense. Our timeline is different.
We have The Dudes No one in the league has an emerging and impactful core 6 like ours Patience everyone
I hope so - if he can be even an average shooter he could be the best two way player in the NBA. Basically he is Ben Simmons with a better attitude right now.
It's a bit more than a better attitude. Ben Simmons teams would pay you anything you want if you can get him to start attempting 3pters in the interest of improving. Simmons' attitude is a huge negative to the team and Amen's attitude is a huge positive to the team. Both are infectious. It's so unlikely Amen will be in the league ten years and not be able to be good at either mid range or 3pt shooting. The value of this better attitude is the difference between good and great players. Better athlete, better first step for Amen too. On a tanking team with a green light and with no pressure to take 3's I think Amen would outplay rookie Simmons. Amen joined a .500 team with a minutes crunch and had to earn every minute of playing time. Now that Udoka wants pace and space I think Amen will fully flourish. He's so obsessed with basketball. I've watched so many interviews and this dude is just a basketball nerd at his core. No one would guess he's not a hard worker off the court too. He clearly hates losing, not one to smile after a loss. In Amen there's a special quality. Reminds me of a young Jimmy Butler.
Harden2.0 winning a ring before Harden? Mavs two potential titles in last 14 years? Rangers title followed by the Mavs? Stars in WCF. Dallas sports is on top. Spurs have Wembanyama. Meanwhile in Houston,… Fans are getting hyped over the 6’0 savior Reed Sheppard!!!
