As a former resident of both communities, that is a tough call... Htown: Tex-Mex, Barbeque; Asian-Fusion; Pappa's family; Shipley's NO: seafood, Cajun / Creole; Commander's Palace; beignets Now I am hungry.... womp womp
Fred and #3, but you do tie your hands for 3 years if he doesn’t work out. Zion is unstoppable with a good team around him when healthy thus worth the chance at that price. No more though.
Not his fault as he's a fantastic player, but he got injured when he was needed most and hasn't really had a healthy season from age 19-23, when guys heal the fastest. He will just get older and more injury-prone. Those Yao and TMac years were very rough and I'm good. I like him but it would have to be a lower offer or none at all, I'd rather get cap room for a star-free agent in later years perhaps. Or if our homegrown guys develop.
If the Pelicans don’t want him anymore due to his injuries then why should we go after him. I’d rather get Mitchell (who I also don’t want) over Zion
If I had a dime for every Zion is Fat comment on here, I'd break even if I had to pay for his team food budget.
Can someone tell me how to attach an article and I’ll post a few that are saying that he’s available (along with Ingram). They are thinking about blowing it up as they are not happy about recent results. Zion is a huge risk/reward player and could be a future hall of famer or another Bo Jackson.
So, if you don't like Zion and his adventures then you must be for trading 3 baby Momma Green then. I get the trepidation on Zion - but I think in anything it is risk vs reward....I believe he makes us a lot better..... Tate, Brooks, Green and Tari and a pick aught to get it done. DD
I mean you also have Anthony Davis and Kawhi just from recent years where the one healthy season get you to a championship. Injury prone players still get big bucks from GMs for a reason.
You take risks on GREAT players - you don't take risks on mediocre ones....unless it is a move to lead to a better one. Zion is worth the risk.....not at any price but at a 2 player core price. DD
To me Zion has two risks. One is of course he's just a malcontent. The other is that he and Sengun doesn't mesh. But yeah, otherwise he's worth some amount of risk.
They might take that. I'm done trying to predict outcomes for these star players regardless of injury history, etc. If the FO believes the price is right and the risk doesn't outweigh the reward... I'll wait to evaluate it till the season starts. Just keep the young core together. With that being said, Zion and Udoka don't seem like a fit.
