This. I’m sure the Spurs are carousing the league for a trade out of this draft unless Sarr somehow falls to them. No way they give up anything of significance to move up for him however.
No way the Rockets want to pay first round money at no. 14. If they trade the no. 3 pick it will be out of this draft altogether.
I would go for #7 Dalton Knecht or Edey #14 Devin Carter or Kel'el Ware But I don't think Portland has any interest in #3 pick., except for maybe Reed Sheppard Superstar lol
Yeah, I don't know why Jackson G. asked for Brogdon? I think he said, Brogdon played for Udoka and knows the system. I believe Udoka brought him to the Celtics in the off-season; but then Udoka was lifted before the season started (would've been Udoka's 2nd season) Maybe Mazulla ran the same system? I'm of the belief, they would have finished further that year with Udoka. (Previous year in the NBA finals vs Warriors)
Brogdon + 7 (Buzelis, Cody Williams, Jared McCain, or Knecht) could work. Or Caruso + 11 (Ja’Kobe Walter, Ware, Knecht). either way I’m really glad we got #3. It’s like we added a solid vet to our squad, and still get to pick in the range we were supposed to be at (#9) with that Brooklyn pick.
Don't think the trade would make sense from both team's perspective. For Portland, nobody considers this draft super strong at the top so why give up additional first round pick to move up 4 spots? For Rockets, under normal circumstances, I'd say yes to that trade for the same reason (that it's a weaker draft) but Rockets already have a number of young promising talent so doesn't seem to work. If it's Portland's #7 this year and like their next year 1st round pick, I think Rockets would go for it.
If Clingan is a consensus n°3, not really needed. You can flip him to where he is sorely needed and still have one of the top guys you want at 7 (Topic, Sheppard, Knecht, Dillingham, Williams, Salaun,...), and then add Zach Edey @14. At least he could be a really valuable backup for 7+ years, a matchup nightmare offensively and defensively, in a league with again so many dominating bigs. The guy wants it, and he comes from a background of growing practicing all of the major north American sports. Great shape... Very intriguing...
The deal Id swing with Portland: #3 for #7, #34 & Rayan Rupert Portland selects Sarr/Risacher/Clingan at 3 by moving up for 2 SRPs. Rockets select Sheppard (7), Bona (34) & Payton Sandfort (44). Rupert, Sandfort and Bona spend most of the season at RGV but would all be nice, cost controlled depth for the next few seasons.
Threw this out on Twitter, but what about 3 for 7 plus the 2029 Milwaukee first rounder (unprotected)?
Because they might be able to get a similar caliber player at 7, plus a future unprotected first that will be a VERY valuable trade asset going forward for a star trade.
I guess, but okc has been caught in the lurch. Sure we want to maintain flexibility, but not at the expense of the here and now.
Probably more attractive to Portland and potentially more rewarding to the Rockets too. I'm in, though I would ask to sweeten it with 34 (swap with 44) where Chomche/Bona can be had.
