note to OP in 2020, troops from both sides were engaged in aggressive melee, face-offs, and skirmishes near the disputed Pangong Lake in Ladakh and the Tibet Autonomous Region prior to that, there had been 3 border skirmishes between China and India the Sino-Indian War of 1962, the 1967 border clashes in Nathu La and Cho La, and the 1987 Sumdorong Chu standoff.
I believe China would have their hands full with any conflict against India -- as I recall India stations 10000+ top units around that hotspot and control the high ground. China's military hasn't even had a major action since 1979 and it didn't go well. In 1979, Beijing launched a large-scale invasion of Vietnam in response to the latter’s occupation of Cambodia, which had ousted the Chinese-backed Khmer Rouge regime. After claiming to have accomplished its mission, Beijing withdrew the PLA, although Vietnam’s armed forces fought tenaciously, and Vietnam continued to occupy Cambodia for another decade. https://www.usip.org/publications/2023/08/five-things-know-about-chinas-armed-forces
Nice try YouTube but I'm smart enough to understand plate tectonics without viewing your dumb video and ads Geography been pushing these countries together since 100 mya. Tell me when you get some news for real
Not only are they top units, but from my experience traveling in the Himalayan region - there's several very tall detachments from the Sikh regiments who compound it by wearing very tall turbans - it will be hard for China to get off any shots inside.
china does not have any notable military accomplishments; neither does India, who has its hands full with the mighty Pakistanis. China and India did engaged in war fare back in 1962, at a time, when India's GDP was larger, had more military weapons. and China was just at the end of the Great Leap Forward fiasco, with reports of famine. somehow, the mal-nourished / under-fed PLA soldiers dealt India's well-fed soldiers a devastating defeat, driving Indian forces back on all fronts. How China Defeated India in a Terrifying 1962 War' the war was fought in Tibetan territory the armed forces that would fight the war could not have been more different. Indian Army developed firmly in light of India’s imperial heritage. Large Indian formations had fought in several theaters of World War II, including North Africa and Burma. These forces would, in many ways, form the core of the new Indian military. The post-independence Indian armed forces were structured along lines broadly similar to that of India’s colonial antecedent, the United Kingdom, and in the early years operated mostly with Western equipment. This incarnation of the Indian Army saw its first action in the 1947, in the first Kashmir War, fighting against its erstwhile associates in the Pakistani Army. The Chinese experience could not have been more different. The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) emerged as the military arm of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), a revolutionary organization with both urban and rural roots. The PLA experienced nearly twenty years of uninterrupted major combat operations after its creation, fighting bitter conflicts against the Nationalist armies of Chiang Kai-shek, The war did not involve air or naval forces from either India or China. This worked in China’s favor; the Indian Navy was considerably superior to the People’s Liberation Army Navy at the time, and the Indian Air Force (equipped mostly with British and French fighters) had an advantage in modern equipment. Moreover, the PLA did not develop a competence in combined air-ground operations for another generation. However, poor coordination on the Indian part, combined with the forbidding terrain, prevented the extensive use of combat aircraft. The victory confirmed Chinese control of Tibet, and created the foundation for a strong relationship between Pakistan and China (the latter closely monitored Indian military performance during the conflict). On the Indian side, the shocking defeat severely damaged the government of Jawaharlal Nehru, and may also have worsened his health; Nehru died less than two years after the war’s conclusion. But the war also sparked a serious interest in military modernization in India, which helped lead to a strong relationship with the Soviet Union. Within a decade, the USSR would become a primary arms supplier for India.
Wow… that would be an incredibly obnoxious war. Two countries with huge populations, two countries with inferiority complexes and two nations with gross politics. It would be like Sammy Hagar and Gene Simmons fighting to the death.
An India PRC war would likely go in favor of the PRC on paper which has been building up its military including advancing and improving its technology for a potential showdown with the US. Even with the latest economic problems the PRC is still economically stronger than India. That’s on paper and what isn’t certain is how would PRC troops actually fight given that most Chinese have grown up now not knowing the hardships previous generations. I’ve brought this up before regarding Taiwan that a long term war requiring significant sacrifice of both blood and standard of living from Chinese people might not go the way their leadership expects. While there are a lot of tensions between the PRC and India and it could be one of the potential hot spots for WWIII I don’t think either country wants to have a war with each other.
China is back to threatening Taiwan... There's a good chance China strikes Taiwan this summer... when the iron is hot and the American President is weak... https://www.cbsnews.com/news/china-...ng-says-powerful-punishment-pro-independence/ Taipei, Taiwan — Taiwan scrambled jets and put missile, naval and land units on alert Thursday over Chinese military exercises being conducted around the self-governing island democracy where a new president took office this week. China's military said its two-day exercises around Taiwan were punishment for separatist forces seeking independence. Beijing claims Taiwan is part of China's national territory and the People's Liberation Army sends navy ships and warplanes into the Taiwan Strait and other areas around the island almost daily to wear down Taiwan's defenses and seek to intimidate its people, who firmly back their de facto independence.
lol this summer Are they building hundreds of thousand tunnels like Hamas as prep for invasion and to hide from satellites? What is this...an invasion for ants?!??
Do conscripts get full benefits? Their underemployment rate is doodoo and I'm sure the group that's lying flat have been upping their CoD skills at the net cafes.
