I saw him at the Summit in '91. He played about a dozen 10 minute songs. It was so loud. Social Distortion and Sonic Youth opened. Sonic Youth was not well received by Houstonians.
I saw him on that same tour but at the Cow Palace in San Francisco . Sonic Youth was great and they seems to spur Neil Young to use even more feedback.
Just got tickes to back to back nights of Tedeschi Trucks Band in Saratoga Springs NY. Aug. 30 and 31st
Took my daughter to see Echo & The Bunnymen last night at The House Of Blues. Great Show. Will Sergeant is fun to watch as a guitarist, but I hate that Ian McColluch always sings in the dark with no lights on him. Briefly talked to Will Sergeant after the show - very nice guy.
Taking my sons to see one of my favorites, Childish Gambino, in September and there’s a very solid chance I’ll be the oldest white dude in the building who knows all the words and i wear that like a badge of honor.
Great tour this year...their new material is solid and their opening band - Ratboys - is a talented alt country band from Chicago.
We went to The Decemberists in Dallas last week. The majestic was a really amazing venue and they sounded top top top notch.
Political, but I think this is something we can all agree on: https://apnews.com/article/ticketma...rts-monopoly-5850838801d2fea54a8112701497ca5d
Saw Kaskade over the weekend in Texas City at ‘lagoonfest’ of all places. The venue ended up being really cool for an EDM show, essentially a massive wading pool. Music was great and the people were amazing. Tons of pretty ladies in bikinis.
Went to Red Rocks to see The Avett Brothers last week. Melissa Ethereidge opened. Fantastic show at an unbelievable venue. ME still brings it. Avett is one of my favoirite artists of all time and they are just as awesome as they ever were. Looking forward to Nathaniel Rateliff in Oct at 713. Not entirely looking forward to Janet Jackson with my wife next week in Austin. The things we do for our women...
Saw Morris Day and the Time with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis at a free show Last weekend in Downtown Minneapolis. After 40 years they can still bring it. Loved the synchronized dancing.
Going to see Chrisopher Cross with my sister in August so we can share thinking about our jailbreaker bank robbin’ grandfather while Chris gives us the smooth stylings of “Ride Like the Wind,”
He better wear the Campbell jersey. Took my kids to their first concert last month...Cat Power, Modest Mouse and Pixies at the Music Factory. They don't know it yet, but we're all going to see Weezer (Flaming Lips and Dino, Jr.) in September.
