There are a lot of strong Green supporters against drafting Sheppard. That does not mean all Green supporters feel that way. I am not sure where you stand?
Jabari's form isn't great? That's literally why people were hopeful his rookie 3 pt shooting was just a product of being very young and inexperienced. No one was thinking he needs to improve his form. He has he prototypical jump shot for a forward. High release oint, compact, rather effortless.
To his credit, Jabari had a bounce back season when it comes to 3 point season getting him back to 36%. He can probably do a bit better, but I'll take it after his disastrous rookie season.
bad ad hominem. I’ve seen these posts, too. "FVV does not push the pace, messes up with Jalen’s rhythm." "Sengun clogs the lane for Jalen." These are quite common narratives on CF
Your analysis is called hindsight analysis. Because Nash became a great passer so his college data was more valid than Sheppard's? So if X and Y had the same college stats. X became a great player and Y became a bust. How do you analyze that? And if someone thought X had the tools to become great when he came out of college, would you say X was shockingly overrated?
Just read through the thread. It is easy to see. I am not going to call anyone out. I do not really care if they support drafting Sheppard or not. I just hope Stone does.
They really aren't. People who defend Green will say that Green's slight role change might have had issues with his confidence and rhythm but at the same time believe it's the CORRECT coaching strategy to get Green to become a more complete player before he returns to a high usage pnr ball handler that he was post ASB. People can have an opinion that Green struggles for the first half to three quarters of the season because of a role change but at the same time believe it's the correct move for Green's development. So ya it's schizophrenia. I've seen outside narratives from national media who said what you said about Sengun and Green but amongst Rocket fans? Not really. But those national media outlets usually are more teylored towards rage bait.
I have. I see some people say that Reed Sheppard isn't the next Steph Curry. Ive seen some who say he isn't a typical third overall pick. I haven't seen a single person who defends Green say he wouldn't be a great fit for this franchise.
Jalen gets to prove himself next year. I have a lot of hope for him. Like I have said before, his streak won my support back for now but I am grounded in my expectations.
Jalen Green should be worried about Cam Whitmore, if he should be worried about anyone at all. Not Reed Sheppard even if he was on this team.
I see no need to argue about it. I happen to see a lot of people who regularly defend Green against drafting Sheppard. It really isn't a big deal. I wasn't the one who pointed it out originally. I was just agreeing with them. TBH, I did not really notice it until it was pointed out.
Even then he shouldn't be worried. You aint going to have Cam run 10 pnr primary ball handler possessions per game which was what Green did last season even with a diminished role behind FVV. Right now he is a play finisher. He ain't braking down and collapsing set half court defenses. Green was splitting double teams with a live handle at age 19.
Well, trading Jalen for Mitchell is supposed to be worth considering. Mitchell chucks up 20 shots a game.
I don't believe Green has to worry about anyone, but there are those in this thread saying Green supporters are worried about Reed Sheppard and hating or whatever you want to call it. That's ridiculous. IF anyone is to be worried about, it would be Cam. But as I said, I don't believe he has anyone to worry about really.
