Best action movie in a decade, easily.

Sure looks awfully feminist. But I trust George Miller.
I sure hope it doesn't suck. I hope Hollywood didn't get too much of their grimy hands on it.

Fellers, the chick eating from the apple, you don't want no part of that, that's the spirit of Eve right there. Looks like a hell of a good time, though.

I'm worried he's going too over the top, but I'll see it later this week. Hope he doesn't chew all the scenery to dusty bits.

86 percent on rotten tomatoes. That’s a good sign. Usually when action movies get like 90-100 score it sucks.

This movie looks bad especially Chris Hemsworth's character.

Loved Fury Road. Saw it in the best movie theater in Houston at the time (Palladium on Grand Parkway which has since changed hands multiple times and is now a crappy Cinemark). It is such a memorable movie for me, but this new one looks like it's been hollywood-fied. Cautiously optimistic but it is likely going to be politically corrected to the absolute max

You have to think of the target demographic for the movie to reconcile the audience score to something you would agree with.

That movie had a lot of ‘get some!’ gun toting ‘Muricans going online and rating it. Do you generally agree with that demographic’s tastes? If not then you probably won’t agree with the review.

This is an action sci-fi movie starring a weird chick and Thor. That’s my demo, and I’ll trust what my fellow nerds think to a degree.

My friend that owned a bar in Brenham for several years went to highschool with the guy it was based on. I met him a handful of times and he thought it was ok. What did you think was so bad about it?

You might enjoy the one negative review I've found. Mick LaSalle is sick of Mad Max movies.

In general, most writers are saying is comes in under Fury Road, and some bemoan the increased use of CGI. I'm seeing it later today, with tempered expectations. Will report without spoilers.

Fury Road is a top 10 movie for me, top 5 action flick. An amazing work of art. If this movie is half as good it will be one of the best of the year.

Great movie, loved it. Very, very different vibe and content than Fury Road. More plot, more pacing, more detail, and I think even better cinematography, if that's possible. Phenomenal sound design, as always, but I ate that up.

Friend of mine, coming out of the theater said, "Fury Road was an opera, and this was a play." That might sum up the difference.

I don't want to spoil anything, but Hemsworth didn't ruin the movie at all. His schtick makes a lot of sense in the story and for his standing in this universe of the wasteland. A lot of the trailer edits are misdirection, and I'm not sure every bit of mayhem in the most recent trailer even made it to the final cut of the film.

For those (sigh) worried about Hollywoodization or whatever effects, please worry about some other movie. This is a Miller movie and he does what he wants. If anything was "PC" it was Fury Road, with a plot literally about liberating a group of women, LOL. But good luck finding morals or messages in this new version of that universe.

Phantom Thread has an audience score of 70%.
The Master has an audience score of 62%.

    Venom has an 80%... :D

As a nerd myself, I am ashamed. A lot of dorks out there with bad taste...
