Jokic was abusing the living **** out of Gobert and KAT all series long. Malone only resting Jokic for 1 minute in the entire game 7 while being up 15 points at the half is the reason why he was so gassed by the end of the game
No one is going to totally stop Jokic, that's a fact. However, as you just said, Gobert backed off and packed the paint. And I think that is the advantage of having a 7'1 - 7'2 shot blocking center. There are no assurances that Adams can return to what he was before. Remember, he is 30yrs old, nearly 300 lbs and coming off a leg injury. It's much easier to find a shooter than an effective shot blocking center.
It’s UConn. Keep in mind Clingan didn’t start his freshman year, averaging just 13 minutes during the tourney. Last draft had a 14th pick from UConn and a 2nd rounder, both had productive rookie seasons, too. This year UConn is mocked to have 4-5 drafts picks, including Castle, who might very well go ahead of Clingan. While he was a force this year, attributing the previous title to him is like saying the five Kentucky players who got drafted with Anthony Davis were proven winners, too.

Yes, everything rides on one or more of the core 6 establishing himself/themselves as top 10 players. If that doesn't happen it may be a long wait to become more than a Kings/Pelicans level wannabe contender. The likelihood of getting to trade for a true top 10 guy is very low.

Minn also went through several bad coaches and GMs. The Rockets have a good coach and competent GM, all we need is a good defensive center

I think a lot of people here feel threatened that if they draft a big at 3, that signals that Sengun is replaceable. Anyone we draft this year isn't meant to replace guys like Amen, Green or Sengun. No one in this class has their talent.
Clingan is Kessler. The only reason why this big stiff idiot gets hyped up is because this draft class is garbage so people are gassing up mid players like him. Risacher is basically MPJ and he could go #1. Gobert has bigger wingspan, faster feet then Clingan and got clowned by Jokic. He looked like a **** European back up big. They beat the Nuggets because Murray was inconsistent as hell, they didn't have back up big and Minnesota had Reid. If Nuggets had a semi good back up big like Claxton OR Murray didn't wet his pants they would've won this series quite comfortably. Clingan is nothing more than a depth. Yes we need depth at 5 but i'm not going to cry myself to sleep for a guy like him. Oh he makes open 3's. Sengun looks like Klay in pre-game shootings. What really impressive is making those shots while having a heart rate of 150 bpm while someone is actively trying to make you miss them. We could get someone like Capela and be done with it. What we really need is a shooter. We can't make the playoffs without a really really good shooter (starting caliber). We worry about the playoffs after making the playoffs.

Towns is a top 2-3 shooting big man ever. He was at 5.8 per 36 (his volume should be much higher) and was at 41.6%. Can sengun be a dirk/towns level shooter despite not being able to make a free three, let alone a 3? This is such a stupid stupid idea
I'm happy with either of those guys. Both seem like they could give us something we lack and will need in the future as the team evolves and we find out who takes the next step among the core. That said, my only fear at this juncture is we trade the pick and assets for Donovan Mitchell. I'll still drink the Kool-Aid but honestly, I'd rather watch a young team find itself with veteran leadership than try to buy our way into a playoff run with a questionable star in the mature phase of his career (ala Harden).
