    Enslave?

Let's put it this way. I'm not going to defend the institution of slavery because a lot of slave revolts had rape of civilians.

I'm not going to support an Aparthied regime because a contingent of the oppressed committed murder and rape of civilians.

Poor people exist. But not all poor people are stripped of basic statehood for 75+ years where they have to do things like go through 6 hours worth of security checkpoints divided by ethnic lines just to make their work shift that is 5 miles away from their home.

Not every poor person experiences a city they live in that has rubble that has existed for more than a decade from ordinance drops with no worthwhile air defense system to protect them.

Do you know how damaging it is to the brain to live in a place where you have to worry about the sky above you randomly killing you?

Poor people exist in America in abundance. But none of them experience the stuff I mentioned here probably even once in their lives let alone it beig daily part of status quo life.

    Acting like China isn’t helping

JERUSALEM (AP) — Israeli officials seized a camera and broadcasting equipment belonging to The Associated Press in southern Israel on Tuesday, accusing the news organization of violating a new media law by providing images to Al Jazeera. The U.S. privately urged the Israeli government to reverse the decision, two senior U.S. officials said.

The U.S. officials spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.

Al Jazeera, which is based in Qatar, is one of thousands of AP customers, and it receives live video from AP and other news organizations.

“The Associated Press decries in the strongest terms the actions of the Israeli government to shut down our longstanding live feed showing a view into Gaza and seize AP equipment,” said Lauren Easton, vice president of corporate communications at the news organization. “The shutdown was not based on the content of the feed but rather an abusive use by the Israeli government of the country’s new foreign broadcaster law. We urge the Israeli authorities to return our equipment and enable us to reinstate our live feed immediately so we can continue to provide this important visual journalism to thousands of media outlets around the world.”

@Nook let's not forget folks that according to Israeli bootlicker @AroundTheWorld these folks are a "minority" and they would never do such bad things. The extremists and bat **** crazy Israelis are the majority in Israel not a "minority."

If these folks had a choice they would drop a nuke on Gaza. Scum

Egypt torpedoed the peace plan by changing the terms.

    https://www.cnn.com/2024/05/21/poli...changing-ceasefire-terms-for-hamas/index.html

    CNN —
Egyptian intelligence quietly changed the terms of a ceasefire proposal that Israel had already signed off on earlier this month, ultimately scuttling a deal that could have released Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, and set a pathway to temporarily end the fighting in Gaza, according to three people familiar with the discussions.

The ceasefire agreement that Hamas ended up announcing on May 6 was not what the Qataris or the Americans believed had been submitted to Hamas for a potential final review, the sources said.

The changes made by Egyptian intelligence, the details of which have not been previously reported, led to a wave of anger and recrimination among officials from the US, Qatar and Israel, and left ceasefire talks at an impasse.

“We were all duped,” one of those sources told CNN.

There are few if any honest dealers in this process. Another reason why this situation is so difficult to resolve.

Eqypt thinking cowboy diplomacy can work.

And this below here is just wonderful.

"US officials have argued that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar doesn’t actually want a deal since he may think he’s winning and the greater the Palestinian suffering the more the world turns on Israel. Critics of Netanyahu, including families of Israeli hostages, have accused him of being more concerned with removing Hamas from Gaza than getting his citizens home."

I’ve been very concerned since the beginning of this that the hostages were good as dead.
I was happy to be wrong that many were freed. That said it’s clear to me that getting Hamas is the priority from Netanyahu than saving the hostages. They wouldn’t use tactics like flooding tunnels and dropping dumb bombs on targets otherwise.

I’ll repeat again that it’s obvious that Hamas welcomes the death of both Israelis and Palestinians.

I’m not really sure but my speculation is that Egypt is not really enthusiastic about a Palestinian state especially one where Hamas plays a large role.

I don’t. There is nothing more valuable to Hamas than living hostages. Arguably, they aren’t yet completely wiped out because of it.

Hamas seems to value the destruction of Israel over everything, including their own lives.
