    I tried to get through Catch-22 three times and couldn’t finish. I’m sarcastic, but that book is bitterly sarcastic. A Confederacy of Dunces is great.

    I tend to read more non fiction and Surely You’re Joking Mr Feynman is one of my favorites.

    You might enjoy the new biography of McMurtry. I noticed it was a finalist for the Pulitzer in biography this year. Can't recall the writer's name but he did the Joan Didion bio too -- I really liked that one.

    That's the one! Daugherty is from Texas from the way back, I think, went to U of H. Great writer.

    Yeah, I should have included Blood Meridian or the Border trilogy. All great books.

    I've read Catch-22 at least three times, maybe more, although it's been a while. I think of it more as cynicism, rather than sarcasm.
