Bold choice, could cause him to take a bit of a tumble down the draft board. He's a bad shooter and he's pretty raw when it comes to ball handling and offense in general....demanding to be starting PG from day one is quite the red flag.
Tell me YOU don't watch ball. DiVincenzo averages 10 points for his career, 15 in his highest season so far. JJ Redick is a massively more accomplished player. Sounds like a real "go getter" top tier player to me...
Yeah, you’re definitely a casual. Career stats lol. Not one person top tier your ignorant imbecile. 15.5 pts on the season, with good shooting (40% from 3) and defense for a team that could go to the conference finals is a scrub. Stay willfully ignorant
For sure if the Rockets screw up and Sheppard is still available at #4, there's no way the Spurs pass him up.
There are some high floor options in this one, maybe even borderline stars. Wouldn't be surprised at Sengün the All Star and Clingan a DPOY Second place. Kentucky guards have a high chance of working out other than TyTy. At least NBA mediocrity.
I think Sengun would have Clingan in foul trouble pretty early on and would allow Sengun to take a nap on the other side of the ball due to Clingan's essentially non existent offense. An unathletic big that can't really shoot, has a terrible handle, and no post moves isn't an "absolute nightmare" for anyone IMO. On top of that, you make him move out of the post when he's on defense and he's absolutely cooked at the NBA level.
Idk, Sheppard seems like the exact type of player the Spurs would jump all over at 4, especially since they desperately need a Guard to help facilitate things for Wemby and Co. He reminds me a lot of a better-shooting Derrick White (which is an awesome player). Not a superstar, but the ultimate glue-guy who is unselfish, plays great defense, makes the right pass, hits open shots, and is just an all-around high-IQ player. That’s exactly what we need imo. Good chance you miss out on him if you trade down.
After scouting Reed for the past few days I’ve seen everything from “he’s this generations Chris Paul with a lethal shot” to “a solid backup shooter spark plug off the bench” And with that said I have no idea what to feel. At this point, we’re playing with house money at the 3rd pick. What the hell, roll the dice I guess.
I am really looking for to players visiting the Rockets so Kelly Iko can leak Stone’s strategy. Then we will really know who they are targeting./s
They should pick whichever player they think has the biggest upside and is most likely to become a true star in this league. The Rockets lack that one true stud that every championship team needs. Maybe that player is already on the team but hasn’t reached his full potential yet. But, let’s not play it safe here. Go all in and draft the player with the biggest upside regardless of position. I’m okay with a trade, as long as it brings back a true star player.
I'm fine with whatever decision the Rockets FO makes -- this draft is weird so many players I've never heard of and mock drafts all over the place. I'll make a quick comment on Reed since he seems to be Clutchfans preferred pick -- positives: elite shooter from deep, crazy hops, seems to have good vision/ high BBQ, scores in bunches, quick hands/ hops create steals and blocks. Negs: short, small frame/ hands, lacks NBA quickness for his size, more of a SG than PG, struggled with creating separation at college level. Overall: in this draft great pick 6-10, but using the #3 overall is a high price for a guy who came off the bench in college. The Rockets have a solid core in place with Fred, Amen, Cam and Jalen. Just some thoughts I had -- please correct me if I'm off with some of these opinions I'll hang up and listen.
