BI is a really good player and I agree that he fits what we need. But I don’t think you can give out big money long term to a guy who’s averaged 57 games a season for the last 5 seasons.
Yeah, I’m getting to a point where I could see a case and be happy with Sarr, Risacher, or Sheppard. Risacher’s base case seems to be how much do you believe the shooting. He looks like a fluid athlete with a good handle. There’s a bit of Jayson Tatum to his game. The question is how much does the defense and handle translate against better competition.
I’m very skeptical on Risacher’s shooting tbh. No elite shooter in the league has a sub 70% FT%. He also doesn’t strike me as having elite feel of the game. Occasional spurts of Jabari-like confidence dips are also alarming. But he might have shown enough flashes to have warranted a top 3 bets. We’ll see.
Some good creation off the dribble, movement shooting, cutting, in there. Here is some more tape from the game where you can see some his defense, Risacher is #10
I dont hate Risacher and i think he has shown enough with his handle that leads you to believe it can be developed into an asset. I dont know if hes going to be good enough to be a future 1 or 2 and i think for us to draft him at 3 thats what we'd need to see him as considering the makeup of the roster right now. Jabari already has a tough enough time being consistently involved offensively. I think we'd have to project Risacher as developing into a creator rather than someone who mostly needs to be created for. Otherwise I dont see how he'd be more valuable than Jabari, Tari, Amen or Cam as a guy who could play the 3/4. But if we'te talking about a guy who can be like a Banchero with a better shot then absolutely.
BI brings AT LEAST as much defense as Bridges. And, is in a galaxy far far away...on the offensive end. Of course, while Bridges is an Iron Man, BI couldn't seem to stay on the floor enough...until last year (70ish). .Ankle issues have been the cause for the most part....Again, I'm convinced his game was jammed up with the presence of Zion & Valančiūnas. I'm assuming his game flows once out of there, making him even more efficient, AND less "injury prone". He thrived once out of LA, would have yet another rebirth here. Ingram's only 26. Sure he has some miles on him, but to my way of thinking, we're tailor made for him. This, at a position of need...2 way stud...differencemaker. We win more games, and become a threat.
Helluva passer too. I watched a lot of Edey’s collegiate career at Purdue. He was a joke when he started but worked his ass off to become a damn good all around player. I’m not saying take him at 3 but it is very possible that he becomes a damn good player in the league.
Well, his inconsistent shooting and his (in)ability to create shots for himself at times. If those abilities and defense turn out to be ok, he seems like a potential Udoka player… maybe sans the physicality.
Outside of his rookie season, the most games he played in a single season is 64, which is this past season. 70ish… You can call it healthy all you want of course. I’m just not sure anyone else would agree with you.
A lot of so-called BPA is actually Best POTENTIAL available, which depends on something about the player to realize. For many of high potential players, shooting is that something. (Both Amen and Jalen are BPA with the hope of having a shot.) So if the shooting does not realize, they aren't really the best PLAYER available.
