No doubt, no brainer, yes if he agrees to extension and if it's JG plus minor assets, not like 3 first rounders+Tari Eason

Mitchell is solid, but he is ball dominant and yet well below the top tier. A team with him as it's #1 option can't win a series vs players that can go to another level, like Ant, Shai, Jokic, Luka, Tatum, or even Brunson.

Here’s the thing, what star “realistically” is going to come available that is better?

The only other names around are Trae Young and doubtfully Booker. At some point you have to consolidate and cash in all these young guys.

I'd rather the young guys internally develop than make moves for perennial second round exits. I'd rather have that outcome with players we drafted.

Green isn't ever developing into Donovan Mitchell. If you have the chance to make that swtich you do it. Ime is the locker room leader for this team. You have to trust in him reignin in Mitchell into a team 1st concept.

The "top out at a second round exit" thing is kind of a red herring since almost every player that can command a max will be at that point at some point in their careers.

You could kind of say that about Dream until after he hit 30 (yea I know he made the finals in '86 under circumstances that changed quite a bit soon after).

I'm not saying we should go after Mitchell but there are maybe 5-10 guys in the league who could do what he did offensively during these playoffs.

Another factor is that it's kind of an inverse of the give back our picks to Brooklyn for Bridges thing, where if they trade all their Suns picks for him it devalues our picks from them quite a bit.

Ime said he was happy with the development of ALL of our young guys this year. Maybe y'all should trust in Ime and Stone who by all appearances don't consider Jalen a bust and realise you're all living in so much cognitive dissonance you've convinced yourselves one of the best prospects in the league is a bust...

I am dead serious. If Mitchell is on this team I will be on break following the team till he is gone. He is a ballhog, a bad passer, undersized and a inconsistent defender. I would rather have Zach Lavinge with all of his issues then Mitchell.

Let someone else waste their money on that loser.

Agree. Keep acquiring net positive players and assets and pick your time to cash them in.

Gonna be a easy no for me. If we trade any of the core 7 or the 3rd for him I’ll be genuinely disappointed in Stone who’ve I’ve supported the whole rebuild

Mitchell and Jarret Allen to the Rockets
Jalen Green, Sengun, Brooks, Tate, and next year's Brooklyn pick to Cleveland
Take Reed Sheppard with the 3rd pick:

    PG: VanVleet / Sheppard
    SG: Mitchell / Whitmore
    SF: Eason / Thompson
    PF: Smith / Jeff Green
    C: Allen / Adams / Landale

Unless Jalen Green develops a better shot, there's a greater chance that he doesn't become Spida.

Mitchell is the far more efficient player.

They had an identical true shooting % of .541 in their aged 21 seasons. But ok

Mitchell is a shorter less explosive version of what Green could be. His ceiling is definitely higher than Mitchell.
