I'll have my crow with a side of liver and a bit of butter on the roll...

Hopkins is bigger and better. Well done.

Roy Jones had a monster body blow KO a few years ago.

It wasn't a monster body blow at all. Looked more like the blow behind the ear that knoked him down.

it was the body shot...both hopkins and delahoya commented that the shot knocked the wind out of him, and delahoya couldn't get up.

hopkins said he heard delahoya grunt after that hit, and the left to head didn't have anything on it.

It was a body shot that has a delayed reaction. that was a great shot it was weird seeing delahoya get koed, especially by a body punch maybe that was some sort of retribution on what he said in the past prior to the pernell fight. I think it was virgil hill that roy hit with a great body shot RocketFan007.

Great body shot!!!!....and Oscar was out.

If anyone doubting that you can get put on the on floor like that, have someone hit you like that and see what happens.

Great acting, and it sucks that I spent money ordering this ****. After the 6 round, delahoya gave up, knowing he couldnt hurt hopkins. He was just waiting for the right punch to land, so he could fall and act like he was hurt. For those who saw that fight, should agree that the punch was not hard. Hopkins did not put alot of strength into the punch. I have lost all my respect for DeLaHoya, and I no longer have any respect for him.

He did get in a ring with Bernard Hopkins, which I would never do, for however many millions of dollars.

So, yeah, he still has my respect.

Come on. You could always just Etienne the fight, you know "Drop on the first decent shot, and then inexplicably remove your mouthpiece as if you want everyone to suspect that you just took a cowardly dive."

You know what - as much as I don't like De La Hoya as a fighter, I'm gonna call BULL**** on your post. Oscar wasn't acting. Why don't you let someone nail you twice in the ribs & then smash your right ear in directly with a left hook & see how quick you hop up? Did you not see the guy TRYING to get up? The frustration on his face as he was doubled over, unable to breathe, and punching the canvas?

BMoney wondered why I responded so harshly before, but it's posts like this that get my blood boiling. How do you know how much strength Hopkins put into that punch? I bet you've never even TAKEN a punch before, NBAHOU. It really doesn't take that much to knock the wind out of someone with a shot to the ribs. Follow that up with a hook to your ear & you're screwed. I swear, some people think that unless it's Rocky III/"Eye of the Tiger" style, it's rigged...

Oscar's ribs are gonna be hurting for a while, and his right ear ringing for days. Sorry you "lost" your money NBAHOU, but you don't know what you're talking about. And if you're gonna whine about spending money & not getting the result you want, you should stick to buying WWE pay-per-views, & not boxing...

Anyway, I was worried through the first few rounds about having to come back here & eat crow to BMoney. Respect to Oscar, he came in despite a cut hand and possible rib injury, and took the fight to Hopkins. He had me worried. I felt a little better when Hopkins woke up & started smiling a bit after the 6th, but even then Oscar was keeping his punch count up... If he had fought this way against Mosley & Trinidad, things might be different today...

BTW, thx for the commentary guys, I couldn't hear jack where I was watching the fight, so I didn't get to hear whether it was the body blows or the left to the cranium that got Oscar. I thought it was the hook - wrong!

Great fight, amazing ending. Can't wait for Trinidad-Mayorga - THAT'S gonna be a war!

Oscar is the most overrated boxer of all time, and I am glad he got exposed. The dude has never beaten anyone good. Sweet Pea and Quartey got cheated.

DLH thought he could take advantage of a past his prime Hopkins and still got leveled.

Exactly, he did it for the money. Not for boxing, like he always says. It was a weak finish, and I like mentioned before, I have lost alot of respect for him.

Calm the **** down. I've seen Delayhoya take bigger hits. Everyoen that watched the fight should agree that Hopkins punch wasnt with full speed and full power. The guy simply gave up, and was waiting for the right body blow so he could fall. I think he was scared hopkins was gonna catch him in the jaw if the fight went on
