So apparently the Olympics start in about 10 weeks. Does anyone else feel like they've heard nothing about them? Who are the 100m favorites? What about swimmers? How is the women's gymnastics team looking? New sports added? Anything about any aspect of it at all? Is it post-Japan Covid Olympics malaise? They usually ram this stuff down our throats for months before the games start, and this year it's crickets. I don't know if I could name anyone who's competing outside of basketball and maybe Simone Biles and Katie Ledecky.

I've been hearing a lot about it but only in Judo circles and about Judo. As soon as the NBA and NHL playoffs end attention will explode on the Olympics.
Nobody watches live TV anymore. I remember Olympic Trails would just be on randomly on the weekends. So by the time Olympics rolled around we would know who was who. Everyone watches streaming so now we have no Idea what's going on.
True, but we still get ads. Like most of us, I look at a lot of sports stuff, and I see no Olympics ads.
It might be Teddy Riner heavyweight Judoka. He’s a two time Olympic medalist and world champion. Judo is very popular in France.
I`ve seen a few commercials here and there but nothing like I remember, I assume with the time difference everything will be shown in prime time after the fact? And when did break dancing become a sport........next your gonna tell me bowling is a sport
Only thing I'm remotely interested in is track and field ( mainly track)... Women's track events are damn near must see for me.. Love seeing them bodies in the tights
USA's Jeffro is actually from Houston. He has a decent chance of medalling if he can qualify. Victor (Florida) has already qualified, also a medal contender. Unsure of how the judging system will work, but if its close to how other high profile international competitions go, I think these are the favorites: B-Boys: Lee (Netherlands) Menno (Netherlands) Phil Wizard (Canada, has already qualified) B-Girls: Ami (Japan) Logistx (USA) 671 (China, has already qualified?) But I can say the whole lineup is strong, probably a dozen names that wouldn't surprise me if they got gold. The field for breaking is pretty even. Definitely an "Any given Sunday" aspect to it. As a long time hobbyist B-boy, seeing it on an olympic stage is kind of surreal. Both excited and a little apprehensive about it.

They had the olympic gymnastic trials here in Minneapolis this past weekend so been hearing a lot. The women’s team is almost the same team as the 2020 one and looks strong to win the all around.
