I do no buy most of it but yeah he is sort of a ball hog and particularly in the Playoffs it is Me ball..... He is likely not a loyal guy so there is always not extending with your franchise that will bring unrest.
Sure. My guess, and this is a total guess, is that Cleveland will either (1) trade Garland and Allen if Mitchell signs an extension, or (2) trade Mitchell and try out the Garland/Mobley/Allen combo with whatever they get from the Mitchell trade if Mitchell refuses to sign.
I think that he just didn't mesh with Mitchell and apparently feels like he was stifled by him. As always, it would depend on the price to acquire, but I'd rather take a chance with Garland at $40m than Mitchell at what will be $55m upon extension. A lot of things have to happen in Cleveland. For Mitchell to re-sign, it appears they will need a new coach. Will they fire the coach to appease a player who may walk anyway? If they do fire the coach, will they involve Mitchell in the hiring process? They are going to have to walk a tightrope over there. For a team that's pretty close, they need to make sure they don't make some knee-jerk decision that causes it all to topple.
I’m a casual when it comes to non Rockets, I just know he’s a top 10 guy in his prime that could elevate the team to contender status if Sengun’s trajectory continues. Meanwhile, I’m a Jalen and 2024 draft skeptic.
Contender status is probably an overstatement, unless one of the other guys REALLY hits and becomes a top 15-20 player. We would kinda be a crappy version of denver
A lot of crapping on Spida here and I'm not sure I'd really want to empty the clip to get him, but that dude played his @ss off in the playoffs this year.
Because when a player averages 27 points a game, you can convince yourself toxicity is just competitiveness.
Dude probably thinks he is a Top 5 player but in reality he is borderline Top 20 or Top 15 at best in a down year. I do think Garland is probably not the easiest player to get along with either on the court. Both are not great veterans that can calm a team. I would have preferred if Orlando won Game 7. They would know what to do with a loss against Boston.
What are you talking about? Green has ALWAYS been a great teammate. He is beloved by his teammates and coaching staff. You even got parentbof Peso defending him, and even his own coach who would bench him in 4rth quarter never took him out of the starting lineup. When he had that good game everyone was happy for him including Sengun. The only guy who hates Green is Roosh who is just a no name talking head. Green's main issues are shooting on the court and his baby mamas off the court. Personality wise he is great and always listens to feedback.
Because apparently Garland has made it known that if Donovan resigns, he will request a trade. That doesn't come out of nowhere. Today has been a gold mine of inside reports from the dumpster fire that are the Cavaliers right now.
But my point is if he is toxic why would Cleveland even consider keeping him? D Mitch averaged 29.5 pts on 59.5% TS in the playoffs I can understand if he is pissed his teammates didn't show up.
He's still their best player and a superstar in his prime. You don't let something like that just go.
A good argument for targeting Mitchell is that it is one less option for the Nets as they try to get out of Ben Simmons mid land hell.
