You have started 3 threads after 5 posts. Is it a record?

Anyway, of the 3 threads I like this one most simply because you didn't use all caps. Two stars. :)

I think ceddy is on to something. I, too, wished we kept Mobley and I know that we could have gotten T-Mac and still keep Mobley. Perhaps, if we had traded MOT and Jim Jackson. I like those guys, too. Mobley is a younger, smaller JJ who can and is still improving and adjusting his game.

I don't think the quote was properly explained. The saying dates back to some French Queen (Mary Antoinette) who mistreated her people. And the "cake" referred to is not our modern day cake. It was more like Quaker Oates rice cakes, i.e. crap. If I remember correctly, the saying essentially meant : "you have food, do actually expect it to be edible?"

    Whatever...

I think you're mistaking the saying that she coined, "Let them eat cake." because after a google search I found out that this, "You can't have your cake and eat it too." was first published back in 1584. And Marie Antoinette lived in the late 1700's. But I also was mistaken because the way I'm reading it, people don't want to have the cake because it is pretty, but they want to have the cake in and of itself. If so, then I don't really understand the reasoning behind "having the cake". What would be the point. I don't know.

    Whatever is right...

You know it's a bad thread when people starting to debate the origins of expressions. Well... here's another bone for ya. Who the hell started the expression "cold as hell"?

I don't know if that specific expression was ever started.

"As hell" can be placed at the end of many expressions to express strong sentiment.

"Man, that test was hard as hell."

"That girl is fine as hell."

Cat,ultimately is,an overachiever, having been a second round pick.I think he's always felt he had something to prove. The guy has accomplished alot,but...He believes he has Stevie's talent, forces his game.Mobes lack of professionalism rubbed off on Francis, and ended up causing problems in his game...and our TEAM.
I am relieved to be rid of Cat..He has heart, but thinks he's better than he is,playing out of control, and being allowed to shoulder too much responsibilty.
To me,we just gave up Cato, Stevie..not much else. This guy is a 6th man on a quality team...no more IMO.
I have cheered Cat on his whole career, and appreciate his contribution to the Rockets, but.I am a Rockets fan first and foremost...so I'm glad he's gone.
    Hello T Mac

    hardwood,

That was the first accurate discription of Cuttino Mobley I've read, much more accurate than the ones wanting him to get considered in the the top 10 shooting guard thread, or the ones who actually have him as a top 10 shooting guard. He's good at what he does, score and defend, but he can improve in SO many areas and I'm not sure if he thinks that he has to. Although, I'm not as negative about him as you are...
