That's how lineups work, you're supposed to put your worst hitter in the cleanup spot, right?

Espada has faith in Breggy. Thinks he’s out of his funk or just crazy or both.

Excellent. You should be the Astros social media manager.

You can tell Bielak works hard. I feel bad for him. Julks too.

That pretty much sums up his Astros tenure... well said.

I like the bottom 3 too... JLo-Fido could somehow find his way near the top of a future lineup if he keeps making contact.

Remember this day when someone goes down and there's a spot starter needed:

    It's gonna be Blair Henley

You don't think Brandon will clear waivers or accept his assignment?

I would think that "somebody" with a long pen/spot-starter deficiency would claim him...but hell if I know

Not that he's great or anything, but he's a bonafide MLB pitcher at least

Vs a LHSP w/ Tucker a ( probably needed) day off, who is a better option?

Seems like they could have sent Dubin down and had Bielak available for multiple innings tonight if Javier gets pulled early. Then they could have DFA’ed Bielak and called up Mushinski for a few days until Dubin’s 10 days passed. That would have kept Brown and Arrighetti both on regular SP routine.

Now they have the risk that Javier only gets thru 2-3 innings, they burn Brown tonight, then are an injury away from another dreaded Blair Henley start.

    Makes total sense.

Both of those guys are low ceiling ( even of high floor) and that fits within what Brown likes.

Brown wants high ceiling guys, even if they have low floors.

Bregman is slashing .159/.229/.205/.434 vs LHP (.496 OPS vs LHSP) this year.

That's who you want hitting cleanup tonight.

I think that is too much mental math for Brown. The one complaint I have with Brown is that is roster manipulation skills are sorely lacking. This isn't the first time his roster moves I have questioned. Oddly, it is usually around the same time he starts doing waiver claims. I am not sure what he sees in the guy we claimed this week.

Might want to let the team win some games while we're at it.

Speas averages 100 mph on his fastball. Theres plenty to like there. He is a guy if you get his walks down he is an elite RP. Brown like to swing for the fences and dumping a low ceiling AAAA OF like Julks for a guy with triple digit heat fits his MO. I don’t mind his roster construction in general but this particular move seems like a waste. Now if they make some other move in the next few days that requires a 40 man spot then it might make a lot more sense.

Fried throwing a no hitter going into the 8th for the Braves and they pulled him. Braves color announcer seems super pissed. Play by play guy towing the company line. I hate it personally. Modern baseball I guess...
