Nope, they haven't (this isn't referring to just those afternoon games on the west coast that are usually only shown in those teams' markets).

Its the advertised "game of the week" with the networks' #1 announcing team that goes out to the extreme majority of the country, and is usually the "best" matchup of the week (better than SNF), and unlike SNF they don't have to give previous years' playoff teams a token appearance. It usually alternates weekly between Fox/CBS. As of late, CBS has pretty much just put Kansas City in most of those games... and Dallas usually gets the most for the NFC package.

It also typically gets the best ratings of any game for the week, especially in that 5:30-6:30 sunday evening "prime" time demographic, where EVERYBODY in the country is likely watching a TV set (old people getting ready for 60 minutes, young people, middle-aged)... which is why the package is so expensive and neither CBS or Fox ever plans on letting it go (unlike the thursday night, sunday night, or Monday night slates that have all changed networks in the last 20 years).

Trivia: what was the one game the Texans were featured for that game in franchise history? spoiler: it was more than 10 years ago, and it was more due to who their opponent was (or who their opponent's QB was).

Man, was it Brady and the Patriots? Was it the Jackets-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named game?

I feel like that was a night game but I might be wrong.

Yep, you got it...Monday Night Football.

Now, I'm guessing it was @ Denver that same season against Jughead and the Donks. I think that was the one where Schaub got lit the **** up.

Now I have a legitimate reason to root against the chiefs beside just being tired of them. Now it actually benefits the Texans whenever they lose. Before, it didn't matter to them at all.

Against the Broncos in Denver versus Peyton Manning. Schaub (seemingly) lost a piece of his ear standing in to throw one downfield, IIRC.

Ding ding ding… although I think you were the 2nd one. But the other comment was less specific and humorous.

It is crazy that this is the only non SNF/MNF national game the Texans have had in over 22 years. But now I’m guessing the Titans haven’t had one either…. But it’s purely a guess.

My first game going to was a Sunday night game. The game Kubiak supposedly had a heart attack.

This could be a Baltimore Browns vs Kansas City Texans throwback game.

If we improve our record by 1 game that should be considered a successful year looking at the schedule of games. NFL dumped on us this year, and our division is actually competitive now.

It’s a set rotation on which divisions play every year and the rest of the schedule (2 games) is based on where you finished the year before. The NFL never “dumps” on anybody.

Bills, Chiefs, Cowboys, Dolphins, Jets, Lions, Packers, and Ravens - Hoping they can at least go 4-4 out of these games.

Titans, Colts, and Jags all 2x. Should go at least 4-2 but divisional games are always tougher.

Should beat the Bears, Patriots and Vikings.

    10-11 games seems reasonable.

Cowboys and Ravens are those 2 games, right?

And the Chiefs… forgot they added that damn 17th game.

Yeah, kinda sucks the one year having a first place schedule when you’re playing the NFC central and AFC east and you basically get the three best other teams in the NFL as your “rank-based opponent”.

There's a lot of turnover in the NFL. Strength of schedule is almost always a non-issue.

The difference between a last place schedule and a first place schedule is about three games. Th difference between playing the NFC South and the NFC North is about 2 games. So we have to have a team 5 games better for the same record.

The good news is we probably do.
