I showed the same season. Banchero is only about 4 1/2 months younger than Sengun.

No, you showed paolo’s 2nd year and sengun’s 3rd year. Comparing 2nd year vs 2nd year or 3rd vs 3rd would make sense

Huh? Is that not what you did? Year 2 vs year 3?

I showed the 2023-2024 season. Banchero is only a bit over 4 months younger than Sengun. While Sengun has been in the NBA a year longer than Banchero, Sengun had Silassssss as coach. Going back to his 2nd season (when he was younger than Banchero is now) would be ridiculous.

You can still personally believe that Banchero is better or will be better, but your claim that all GMs would prefer Banchero is unfounded in my opinion, based on what they have shown last season.

its certainly neck and neck, but Alpi was better this year by most basic and advanced stats - ESPECIALLY the advanced stats.

Bear in mind thats with 2 year swith Silas. That's with a roster around him that is still kinda ass. That's with a team that is still not sure if they want to lean into him. And mostly that's with a dude that can't hit 3s. The last bit is 100% on him. I have faith he'll figure that last bit out personally. Maybe he won't, but I'm betting he does.

No harm if you would trade him for Banchero. And indeed i suspect most GMs would.

But a lot of GMs are awful talent evaluators - just look how the draft bears out every year. We have multi-time MVPs drafted post pick 13, one in the second round.

The "aura" of Paolo as the #1 pick guy is still stuck to him - and rightly so, he's very very good.

Dude's picked later in the lottery or even further down REALLY have to ball out and prove themselves to get that aura.

Banchero was handed the keys to Orlando since the second he stepped on the court. Sengun was marginalized by Silas his first two years and was not turned loose until his third year under a real coach. If Sengun had Ime in his second year, then a comparison of year 2 numbers for both players would make more sense. I am sure Sengun's stats would be even better than they were in year 3 if he had Ime from the beginning. As @AroundTheWorld stated their ages are basically the same.
