Offense not working...shuffle the lineup. That's like applying one of those small circular band-aids to a 6" gaping wound. Good luck.
A couple of Singleton bat flips with men on and we are good to go, sadly that's our most realistic chance at winning tonight. Actually with Spaghetti on the mound will prob need a few bat flips or at least one being a slam.
I don't like to watch Astros embarrass themselves, so after couple bombs I went back to my job. F@$##@@#$@ change the lineup for god sake especially the ex-Astros who has been very silent. Do we need Trey Cabbage against the Spankees? Have J.Hader pitch the 1st inning? Let J.Pena bat 1st in the lineup, change the ship. Right now, this is the Titanic going down at mach speed. The good news is I may find a lot of discounts on Stros shirts and hats.
Who Wife must be making bregman do the dishes, take out the trash, feed the baby at night, telling Bregman he can’t leave to the ballpark until Amazon package arrives. As Bregman grabs his gear for the game, his wife asks, "Can you talk to the manager about leaving early tonight if the game's a blow out like last night? We have friends coming over for dinner.” Much easier to hit a baseball when single.
Lol... that's like the caller last night to 790 who suggested that since the Astros now all have young kids they should be having more playdates together and that will get them back on track... But yes, this is the difference between a young/up and coming team that does club Astros after every win... and an old veteran team that has been there/done that. They all have lives outside of baseball, many have already made generational money on their contracts... they're still professionals so it doesn't mean they should have to suck like they are now, but there is a drive element that is certainly missing. We all saw this with the late 90's Rockets. We can see versions of it now in the current NBA landscape as well. Baseball doesn't have teams with prolonged runs like the Astros anymore but when they did, unless you were constantly infusing some young pitching talent (or HOF pitching in general) into your roster, teams age out.
I am very happy to see Meyers in the lineup today. I was worried Joe would sit him vs the LH and start Loperfido. I am wondering why Loperfido had yesterday off. If he doesn't start tomorrow then I will get curious.
At least this place is consistent. Yordan sucking, Bregman sucking, Diaz sucking, Altuve not running hard, Tucker almost dropping routine pop-ups.... but will still all be about Meyers vs. Loperfido vs. Dubon vs. Cabbage!
I wonder how you feel about Chas? Made himself a good hitter last year but has been terrible this year. Much less range than Meyers. Worse arm than Meyers.
Loperfido seems to have both. I know he’s a projected corner OF but I can’t see him being a horrible everyday CF. Plus, he needs ABs and has pop
Chas and Meyers are both meh. I wouldn’t be sad if one or both got moved for bullpen arms or prospects. Think they wouldn’t bring any plus prospects back but could get some pen arms.
So, is Diaz going to end up with better stats as a non-starter last season versus a starter this season? I hope not. I don't know what it means, either. Should he go back to being a back-up catcher? lol
