I'm not sure if Trumpers really understand this, but prosecutors are literally out to get you. It's an adversarial system by design. The prosecutor doesn't have to be impartial. He shouldn't be impartial. Defense counsel shouldn't be impartial either. They both make the best arguments they can to get the outcome they want. The judge and jury are the ones that must be impartial. Called it! But, probably everybody did.
Democrats broke 250 years of tradition by bringing criminal charges against a former (and future) President. These charges must have been VERY SERIOUS to break 250 years of tradition right? Nope -- the charges are falsifying business records -- a misdemeanor. The political hack AG Alvin Bragg turned it into 30+ felonies by linking the misdemeanor to a to-be-named crime -- likely another misdemeanor. The Democrats are talking about the salacious details of the Stormy Daniels situation, an election conspiracy, and many other distractions as their way to distract the TDS suffering normies. They know the process is the punishment for Trump. This is a fake legal case with absurdly thin underpinnings. But the process is time consuming, distracting, expensive, and reputation damaging -- and that's why they pursue it. It's a perversion of the legal system. It's abusive. It's destroying Americans' faith & confidence in the entire legal system -- but especially in deep blue jurisdictions like NYC. But none of those things matter to selfish, vile, corrupt Democrats. All that matters is that they remain in power. American traditions and institutions are meaningless to them. And of course this lawfare is an attack on democracy itself. By trying to knock out your political opponent on business technicalities during the prime election season. Shameful. And they know they are being dishonest -- yet they lack the moral core to even care. Banana Republic.
Trump broke 250 years of tradition by being a President who is a ****ing criminal. An admitted criminal at that.
OMG OMG OMG How dare they stop Trump from being able to rally by making him go to court! It's so pathetic how these Trumpers are. Trump has been on a crime spree for years. That lying scumbag has committed more felonies than any President in history. Way way more. These Trumpers don't give a damn about breaking laws. They are pathetic hypocrites when it comes to criminals. Trump should have been in trials all year, and is doing all he can to delay and delay and avoid prosecution before November. To him that's his ticket to have his 91 or more felonies dropped and get away with more crimes than anyone in US history ever dreamed of getting away with. The guy committed different felonies all over the country. Trump is a fraud, and a lying psychopath.
u need to heed Abe Lincoln's sage advise, for the education of Traitor_George Enron was caught falsifying its business record For financial crimes committed, Erron's Chairman, CEO, CFO were imprisoned attributable to the many delay tactics by Trump's legal team
Johnson: Merchan not 'serious judge' after threatening Trump with jail time in election year House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., blasted Judge Juan Merchan on Tuesday for fining former President Trump 10 times for gag order violations during an ongoing presidential campaign. Merchan is presiding over Trump's hush money case in New York. "The judge, who is a well-known Democrat, is pursuing an indefensible gag order on President Trump. Now, just think about that. Think about the magnitude of that. He's trying to override President Trump's constitutional right to defend himself against the constant smears of his political opponents, in an election year," Johnson said during a news conference on Tuesday after a House GOP conference meeting. "You cannot call yourself a serious judge and threaten a presidential candidate with jail time when he defends his reputation in public in the middle of a campaign. And I think everybody of good conscience understands that," he added. Johnson turned to the classified documents case against Trump, who he argued has been treated "completely differently" from President Biden. "Biden, of course, willfully retained and disclosed classified material but because he is, quote, an elderly man with a poor memory, un-quote, it was decided that DOJ would not be bringing charges," he said. "What the American people see, and I mean, this is across the country, this isn't just red states, it's blue states as well. They look at this and they see an incredible double standard. It's just blatantly on display. It's the weaponization of our justice system. Every single person of good conscience and common sense can see that clearly and it's disturbing to them," Johnson also said. He continued, saying, "Why? Because in our system, in a constitutional Republic, if the people do not believe that the justice system is fair, that you really do not have equal justice under law, then they throw their hands up and they say, 'What is there to believe in?'" https://justthenews.com/government/...ge-after-threatening-trump-jail-time-election
I believe the purpose was to counter trump's defense that he paid hush money out of concern about his wife... not to protect his chance of election.
Another bunch of BS lies from the GOP. They are desperate to save the old man in diapers, when he can't stop opening his trap to intimidate, threaten, or discredit witnesses, knowing it's prohibited. There are reasons for gag orders, and whether you believe in them or not, they are legal. Brainwashed and Stupid gets old. Diaper Don can't control his bowels or his lying mouth.
Hope Hicks’ testimony on the Access Hollywood tape blew that convenient excuse out of water. “He wanted to make sure that there was a denial of any kind of relationship,” said Hicks while testifying, who was at that time Trump’s campaign press secretary. Hicks recounted how, after receiving an email from David Fahrenthold, the Washington Post reporter who broke the "Access Hollywood" story. she theb sent an email to other members of the campaign — Jason Miller, David Bossie, Kellyanne Conway and Steve Bannon — who said "deny, deny, deny." Hicks testified, “It was a reflex,” and said she was “a little shocked.” Trump’s motivation being his presidential campaign is what makes the hush money payments campaign such a strong case. Her testimony alleges that Trump’s motivation was the presidency and not, say, protecting his third wife or his fifth child, who at the time was small.
