Astros need to go back to what worked in the past: 1) Put Pressly back in the closer role, with Hader/Abreu setting it up 2) No back to back lefties in the line-up. I'm with Dusty and old school baseball on this one, they need to alternate R/L 3) 6 man rotation with Brown to AAA or the bullpen
It's really odd. Especially after they spent all offseason talking about how he was the starter and they believed in him, then he hit all spring, and he's hit so far this year and his playing time dwindles by the day. Really really strange.
I want to be optimistic, but I am going to do the George Costanza routine and do the opposite of what I normally do......................we are going to LOSE and LOSE HUGELY....................get the brooms out, we gonna get swept
It’s so weird, especially in view of Dana’s comments before the season that they were gonna give him a shot in CF. Tf happened to that, Dana?
This is where I’ve been for the past couple of weeks. This team needs to be the 2019 Nats. That team was lethal when they finally got healthy.
At other times though it would be obvious when he was talking out of his ass. Why make **** up about Meyers starting in CF? Who is Espada to not honor the wishes of his GM? Does he think he’s Dusty Baker. I kinda doubt it.
Worst case scenario is Astros lose every game till the end of the season. I believe the Astros can do better than that. That’s why I’m confident in this team. Go Stros!
Unbelievably, and I think I'm right but maybe not, but I'm pretty sure this team is only about 5 wins worse than they were a year ago at this same time. That's hard to imagine as shitty as they have been in pretty much every aspect of the game. If they could ever pull their collective heads out of their asses, there is still time to turn it around, but they've not shown much promise so far. Even still, if they're going to do it, they better start right now or it's going to get away from them. I want to believe, I really do. They've earned the benefit of the doubt, even though this group feels way different...
There is a lot of GM speak from Dana. I agree the Meyers thing is weird. There is no reason for it if he didn't mean it. It is just weird to me that CF (and LF when Chas is healthy) is always the position that seem to be where PAs are given to keep players fresh. Over the last three years, there is almost an 8 fWAR difference between 1B and CF despite Chas and now Meyers getting yanked around.
pus*ies? ha. the team ain't even at 0.500 and we have fans calling other fans pus*ies. we're not delusional. we have tuned in for nothing but mostly Ls so far. i'm setting my expectations low until further noticed.
Found this documentary about the history of New York. Very interesting. It’s made by the brother of Ken Burns, but has the same feel as Ken’s stuff. Very relaxing. Can fall asleep watching it.
