The big part is IF it is absolutely necessary which would be like an injury bug that hit the OL last season. He loves the DL players accumulated this off season to go with WAJ.
JJ comes out of the smoke tunnel first, wearing the (all reds? H-towns?). You'd need earplugs if you were in the stadium, I'd like to see the decibel meter when that happens.
I don't know if he's serious, but Demeco should 100% ask. Watt can play DT for sure for this team and he played for our current d-coordinator in AZ. My fandom would explode all over the computer screen.
No way he could play 40 snaps every game, but as a situational guy, if he's up for it I say "why the hell not?" Situation 1: "you really wanna get in the OL/QB's head" on 3rd down
I would love JJ to come back. How would restricted limited minutes be with Hunter/Autry/Anderson? Or full time necessary? Imagine JJ being used limited minutes with HIGH return. Oh. My. Goodness. And if he isn't that guy anymore, then guess what? Respect to JJ wanting to come back. But he deserves to see success and I think we should welcome him back ASAP. I doubt he'll take barely any money to return for a year or 2.
Seriously just do it! Makes sense on all accounts: JJ is clearly not done and still training and could do a 1 year contract to retire a Texan. We are a little weak across the DLine but we do have a lot of bodies so a guy who can play at a high level for a few reps is ideal. Good lord can you imagine: Hunter/Autry/Watt/Anderson??? That’s a WILD front 4. The jersey money alone would pay his contract. It would be a culmination of this complete culture rebuild and JJ deserves to see true success in this city. I know I’m a homer, but I truly can’t see a single negative… he plays poorly then you just lessen his reps, I doubt he costs much but like I said - jersey sales, where is the negative?
Really should depend on the record. If we struggle early bring him back early. If we are playing well bring him back with about 3 weeks in the regular season (as his pre-season) and let him loose in the playoffs. JJ as a rotational tackle/DE would be insane next to Anderson or Hunter. I wouldn’t say that if he had sucked his last year, but he was a beast. He’s hungry let him feed!!!
This is an interesting take too. Ugh, so many possibilities and options. In the end, I would love for JJ to be back. PLLLEASSEEEE BRING BACKKKKK JJ!!!!!
This would make this offseason almost perfect. C'mon Cass get his agent on the phone before he changes his mind!
I'm personally not interested in some Las Vegas style farewell tour glitter show. This is serious business and the man can flat out still ball. Yall can have all that grand standing dog and pony show. I want a locked in Watt and I believe he's more than capable holding that d tackle spot down.
Oh boy, here we go. It seems like JJ really wants to return. He performed pretty well a couple of years ago. But, I am concerned about him getting injured. It looks like JJ has promising TV career, so I’m a little surprised he’s talking about playing again. But, he must really miss the game. If he comes back and doesn’t perform well, will DeMeco have a problem benching him? It could get a little awkward.
Don't think that'll be a problem. I think JJ has self awareness that he'll bench himself and retire again if he finds out he can't play up to the level he wants. He has that pride in him.
I would love this, I don't care if it was just a few plays a game, his passion and energy he brings to the locker room is unmatched. He would be a players coach.........................Please make it happen, and not halfway through the season, from day one
