I still think the Steven Adams trade is extremely underrated. I hope we can lock him up. With Steven Adams, Alpi, Tari, Amen, we will be a TERROR on the boards.
If we could trade Landale and a pick for Kessler, and draft Reed Sheppard, I think we would have the perfect team.
I don’t think he was anything more than an extended year of usefulness out of Oladipo’s contract. I bet they go into the season never expecting him to see the floor. Has anyone seen him do anything basketball related in a year? If they can get what they got from Boban, it will be a pleasant surprise.
We lose Landale and a pick for Kessler to be the 3rd guy in the lineup? Lol. Adams is gonna get 15 mins of play and Landale is the backup to the backup as cheap insurance incase of emergency. We dont need additional big men and if we did we can get an enforcer with the 2nd round pick in the draft.
I agree. A healthy Adams could probably still start for more than half of the NBA teams or at least a handful of them. Defense cannot be taken for granted from the center, and Adams is a force on the interior. I think that the Rockets have a huge luxury with Joc Landale. A quality backup big man is always in demand. He obviously has value to the Rockets as either a rotational depth piece, or as a trade chip.
The question isn't what he has done, the question is absolutely "what is 100% for Steven Adams in 2024-25?" What does he have left? Aside from a guaranteed contract... Serves reason, Oladipo is probably an injury-shortened career and Memphis willingly agreed to trade Adams for him. And then coveted a center. Did they not believe Adams could make it back? Adams is found money. If he does anything at all on the court it's a huge success. Definitely a Boban-vibes replacement. Landale is still the backup here until proven otherwise. Steven Adams 24-25 is theoretical.
I'm really hoping that he's more than that. If Adams can play a solid backup C role, it would be huge boost for the second unit and the team's overall defense.
Guess who will do a lot of things adams did but at a potentially higher level? Zac Edey. Edey along with Triple J ,Morant, and Bane is gonna be a problem
30 is the other side of the hill. We shouldn’t downplay his situation. Being hopeful is one thing but way too many people talk like we just picked up OKC Adams. What he has left is absolutely a question to be answered.
Starting with his second season, Adams has started 99%+ of the games he's played in (621 of 625 games). I hope he's okay with coming off the bench. He's 31 years old in July and coming off a major injury, so maybe he'll see this as the next part of his career.
