Booker would only be available if they decide to go in full re-build mode. Trade Duran and Booker and buy out Beal at some point. They can do it now or do it later, but they have no chance at contention and no assets to deal. If they hold out with the current core, then that is better for us, because the Nets own their picks. If they do decide to trade Booker, I would only be willing to trade one of FVV, Jalen, or Cam and the Nets picks.

I'd probably lean Booker, but really close players. I'd have no issue besides cost in getting either one. Pointy elbows don't bother me.

You wouldn't hesitate to pay Booker? Well its good Tilman has a financial backer.

    Honestly - neither.

Neither of them are good enough to lead a team deep in the playoffs without having an equal or better player next to them.

The cost for Booker would be very high.

I would rather keep the young players and draft picks and build that way.

If someone that really is a difference maker - like a Luka, becomes available, then yeah I would be interested but that is very unlikely to happen.

If we had a clear future elite player similar to a Luka/Giannis/Shai/Edwards/etc., I'd definitely agree, but as it stands right now our best player/young talent is Sengun who realistically will be an All-Star level player but probably never cracks the Top 10-15. Booker/Mitchell fit the bill, though I prefer Booker for sure.

Because of that, I would definitely be open to a consolidation trade where we land another young stud, especially knowing we have valuable Nets picks and/or young upside players like Whitmore/Amen to offset sending away some quality assets. But either way, we're in a good spot. Have some optionality with how we go forward.

Booker has zero chance of being traded, but I'd give Mitchell the max in 2025 if he's willing to take it in Houston. The latter is assuming Jalen Green sucks and not getting that max contract next offseason.

I agree with you - except I do not believe that Booker or Mitchell are top 10 players. So I would prefer to wait and see.

You are right that a clear Number 1 guy is not coming to Houston unless the sky is falling anywhere else.

I really hope Sengün can at least develop into a 1a guy on the surface that other stars want to play with him.

    some of yall are crazy/hilarious....

do you throw kings ransom at either one? probably not.

But to the not interested crowd? how exactly do you expect the Rockets to get a star level backcourt player? Just gonna keep holding out hope for Jalen forever?

That's what was getting at regarding the Suns. They have no chance to even get in the conversatiion after the move for Beale. No assets to improve. They need to sell now (probably won't, but need to nevertheless)....and we have the best picks to give them for Booker
