I hated signing Hader to 5 years at the time. It was bad in the moment. But some here liked the big splashy name. I watched Hader pitch in the post-season last and blow it for the Padres.
Yeah, he's a bum man. I was really on board with the signing at first. Now we're stuck with this loser.
When it rains, its pours. This team just cant catch a break. Somebody in the organization has pissed off the baseball Gods big time.
I can't remember an Astros team as rage inducing as this one. It is unbelievable how many games they've blown already this year. This bullpen should be tops in the league and it blows absolute chunks. Each facet of the team takes turns blowing games. We got clutch timely hitting for a change, bullpen gives it away. In the prior weeks our starters would be so bad we'd be down 5 before picking up a bat. When we get good pitching they get no run support. I don't know the fix these guys just have to stop sucking donkey ass.
He's been pretty awesome in the postseason Spoiler https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/h/haderjo01.shtml
Bullpen blows it again. Astros are terrible in close games. Feast or famine.... win when they blow out the other team with 8-10 runs.... and lose these 1 run games. Also. Jordan and Bregman are black holes in the line up. They need some days off.
Astros need a line-up change...bad. Just to shake things up a bit R 2B Altuve L 1B Singleton R SS Pena L RF Tucker R C Diaz L DH Alvarez R 3B Bregman L CF Loperfido R LF Dubon
22 losses Starters 7-11 Relievers 5-11 A good bullpen is probably 10-6 maybe 11-5. There's your difference in a slow start (18-16 or 17-17) and a devastating start (12-22).
Very easily could have been 7 of the last 8 wins, putting us right back in the race at 14-20 and only 3 1/2 games back. Texas coming from behind really made this a banner day.
He's been borderline overused the past few days. Today would've been his 4th appearance in 6 days, so he prob wouldn't pitch until a more desperate situation like extra innings. Bottom line, too many relievers gave up runs. We can't have Montero, Abreu, AND Hader giving up runs.
Record in one-run games... 1-9 It was the '23 Padres demise. They finished somewhere around 7-22 and it doesn't seem Hader's fault. This crap will not continue. It's just too many guys underperforming at the same time and some bad luck.
