I doubted the TWolves but I’m putting my faith in them. Which probably means they get swept. I was telling a friend before game 3 against the Suns that is they sweep I would give the edge to the Wolves over Denver. This team is playing the best ball right now in the history of the franchise and are peaking at the right time. They are deeper than the Nuggets and match up better. All of that said though it’s still the Minnesota Timberwolves and history has not been kind to this franchise. I was going to go with Wolves in 6 but will Give a guarded Wolves in 7.
The Nuggets margin for error is thin because their bench is non-existent. Last year they had 6 core players; this year it's just the 5 starters. They are definitely beatable if the T-Wolves bring their best and can avoid 2nd half collapses. The Nuggets are the most likely team to emerge from the WC, but I'm betting the field. It won't take much going wrong for them to lose a series. This is a 7-player vs. 5-player series (excluding the refs). If this goes 6-7 games, the depth could tip the scales toward the T-Wolves if they are mature and composed enough to seize the moment.
Quite possible. After the Nuggets basically did nothing in free agency after losing Bruce Brown, they are very fortunate to be in the position they are now. The injury bug was very kind to them. At the start of the season, I didn't expect them to be in this position.
Here for it, I want to say Denver's championship experience will advance them but Minnesota's size to matchup, Murray's lingering calf injury, and Edwards having played well under pressure make me think this may go a little longer. If Minnesota's big three play to their standard they might take this as well, we'll see how it goes.
If they torture Jokic in the pick-and-roll and he can't get easy baskets on offense with Gobert/Kat rotating on him, it's going to be a long series for Denver.
The Nuggets showed sluggishness and a lack of urgency against the Lakers far too often, but they got away with it. If they continue against the T-Wolves, I think they will lose the series. Maybe losing game 1 is what they need to snap the urgency back into their step. EDIT: You know Malone senses something is wrong when Justin Holiday checks in during the 1st quarter. He basically didn't play against the Lakers. EDIT2: Old man RJ and Justin Holiday get it done!
If Denver wins, their athletic wings, Porter Jr. and Gordon will be the difference with two-way play. Minnesota has droughts on offense when Ant isn't making things happen. The supporting cast needs to score
Yes, the short bench and extra pressure on the starting unit game in game out would prove to be excruciating...... It was Reg Jax who actually played well.
