Was either one ever both coach and gm? There’s always going to he exceptions, 2 out of hundreds still isn’t great

I had my mind on player and GM’s. I don’t think Jerry did coach, but Pat Riley was one of the best coaches of all times. I just don’t like it when folks talk in absolutes like coaches are never good gms. There have been some failures like Jackson, but you really said talent evaluators, I’m not sure that’s the case at all. There are lot of coaches that have had a heavy influence on personnel. Popovich is one for sure. No big deal either way.

Fair enough, they’re just usually a catastrophe so those situations stick out more. It’s a totally different skillset so i want my coach to have nothing to do with roster construction. I feel like west did coach because in winning time he was the coach haha

I don't think ex coaches or players are any more or less likely to fail when given the GM role compared to non coaches and non players. It's simply two different skillsets to be proficient at. It's simply that there's way more non-coaches and non-players than coaches and players, so the talent pool for good GM-ing is much lower in the smaller group.

I do not think Brooks was so bad, but yup I do think the role of an enforcer is outdated and can be given to a young player as well.

Ime thought of Bruce Bowen to be exact......who was a much better shooter.

The biggest Culture setter was Ime himself, kudos to Fred all the while but it is the Coach.

No harm done, Ime is not that bad at roster construction and Stone is not that great either.....

Nobody said "never." It's just a generalized observation. If only10% of coaches are good GMs, then there's nothing wrong to say, "I don't trust coaches to do the GM job."

This is like a cherry on top but you could eat the cake without the cherry and the cake is supposed to be good standing on its own.

He's going to get knocked out if he just stands there and tries to trade punches. I need to see some float like a butterfly footwork.

Based on this clip, Sengun definitely chose the right sport to make his career.
