CJ recently said that Metchie is "looking good". So maybe he will be good this year and be a multi-year starter. However, it would be (to me) a semi-ominous sign for Metchie's future IF we use a 2-4th round pick on a receiver. I hope that we can get Kris Jenkins Friday night. He is great against the run and can be a very solid DT for years to come. Is it possible that we pick TWO DT'S in this draft? I can envision us taking one in the 2nd and then another in the 4th.
From what I've read it seems that Cooper's speed translates better to the NFL but who knows? I have mocked him to us at 59 after using 42 for a DT.
We might take Newton at 42 but I doubt that we trade up to get him considering that we traded our #23 pick. My guess is that management is worried about his health or simply that he's not worth a first round pick.
Atlanta taking Penix was definitely a surprise and a head scratcher for me. I think it was a mistake. They could have drafted a premiere talent to help them NOW. I'm glad I'm not an Atlanta fan.
Thanks, not that you needed to jump to a defense or anything. I'm a big boy. I am ascertaining that he's mad for me bringing up last year's draft. I would be too if the roles were reversed.
This has been kind of a bummer of a 1st draft day for me. Didn't like the uni reveal, then our division rivals got players I really did like! Latu was the pass rusher I wanted most and BTj was one of my favorite receivers as well. At least Latham is a meh pick for me and the best thing is that none of our division rivals got M. Nabers or B. Browers! But they DID get better. If Nick can keep from overpaying I'd like to see a slight trade-up for Jer'Zhan Newton tomorrow. That and somehow come away with Ben Sinnott (te), Ray Davis (rb) and Javon Baker (wr) in the next day or two.
Oh I know you didn't need my help. Just figured I'd offer some friendly advice to him. The Mike Gundy clip got a laugh. I hadn't seen that in a while. Can't believe that was 15 years ago.
Damn near 50 now unfortunately, but I was damn around 40 when that clip happened I remember QB Bobby Reid too...he was a 5* recruit out of the Houston area, iirc, North Shore maybe?
50 isn't bad as long as you're healthy. I think he did go to North Shore. That school always had an insane amount of talent.
I just woke up from a dream where the Texans traded up to 38 to draft AD Mitchell. I don’t even have any college football opinions. Don’t know anything about the guy. Just wanted to let y’all know.
I would disagree, one of Wilson's strengths is diagnosing plays and getting to the spot quickly. Cooper is the more violent down hill player.
