That was in my lunch rotation back when I worked in the area. Good stuff.

The Avalon Diner nearest me just closed....a new "retro" diner is taking its place called Tasty Munch. I hope it doesn't suck. I like diners.

They charge for bread and onions and jalapenos and ****. It's rare I complain about mom & pop small biz prices but c'mon. Good sides though.

Never heard of that at a bbq place, no me gusta. Makes me think of TexMex places charging for chips and salsa.

There will be a new Pit Room soon in the Memorial City area. Will be a much larger spot than the original.

I love me some BBQ…had it last night. But I feel like we’ve saturated the **** out of that market and mixed it with BBQ snobbery which is so funny to me, honestly, considering how routine it’s been in my life as a Houstonian. I’d like to go back to a time where you could eat BBQ without hearing about the “Pit Master” lol

Tastes and trends change (just look at the struggles of the craft beer industry) and you know there's going to be a massive market correction in the future

Was going to mention that. There's breweries popping up on every corner these days.

BBQ turkey with no sauce has gotta be healthy, no? Maybe sodium if that's what you're looking at? I rarely eat BBQ, it's not something I crave, but a good brisket do be hitting.

I wonder if the Demeris on Shepherd refers to its location as Upper Kirby, too.
