I agree he did cool off considerably from the start of the season. I’m a firm believer though whether you start off hot and cool off or start off cold and heat up (talking about you Jalen Green)…. Over the course of an 82 game season I think you usually end up being who you are. It’s kind of like our final record. Some called our hot winning streak in March a fluke and it cost them (suck it @YOLO) but many others predicted we were right around a .500 team or better before the season began.

I don’t think Brooks is a sharpshooter by any means but the biggest reason for Brooks drop off IMO was the loss of Tari and then Sengun. If you look at his 3PT percentages the severe dip aligns almost perfectly with when each of them got hurt. It makes sense to me considering he was supposed to be our 4th or 5th option on offense instead with those injuries it bumped him to 3rd or 4th. I think asking Brooks to be an efficient 3rd scoring option while being a top defender was a big ask and I wasn’t expecting him to be that with those injuries but he met or exceeded my expectations overall. He’s a streaky shooter but a great role player and a defensive specialist.

It’s not just the shooting percentage. He is awful at every aspect of offensive basketball. Even if he shoots 35% for a season, nobody will guard him so he hurts your spacing. He’s a complete zero as a passer, as a creator, as a driver. I know most people here don’t believe in analytics but there’s a reason why every metric says that he’s horrific on offense. It’s because he is. He also doesn’t rebound AT ALL. How does your 6 8 SF have a 5.9% rebound rate? That’s worse than jalen, and barely better than freakin FVV.

I'll definitely afford Cam the same idea that ended up being true for Jalen.

When the paint is packed by your own HC, that paint becomes a place that opposing HC's will funnel your perimeter players into. Sengun is in the paint, so Gobert is deep in the paint too (as compared to an empty paint if our C could shoot). So now, McDaniels guards Jalen and Cam tightly with no breathing room for 3pters, hoping they drive into the paint where Sengun is taking up space and Gobert is waiting to challenge them and McDaniels is chasing them. This will undoubtedly reduce your 3PT% due to an easily packed paint.

That's why people were shocked: why would Green's 3PT% improve just because the paint is open? You gotta watch the games to know the answers.

I don’t love Trae Young, but I do think him and Sengun could create a deadly offensive duo.

If Capela were part of the trade...or if the defensive dropoff were otherwise addressed.

Morey would make the move, as he was always star-chasing. Stone? Udoka? I dunno.

Im not crazy about Young. But he is only 25.

    in 2025-2026

    Sengun
    Smith
    Eason
    Young/Cam
    Thompson

    Could be good.

    I’d offer Green/#9/2027 Rockets first.

Three defensive studs(all three are great at off-ball offense too) and two gifted offensive players. This squad would rock.

very talented, but not a 2-way player and not a winning player, and therefore, not a max player. Don’t get caught being the one to pay him. San Antonio seems like the best fit because they can hide Trae’s poor perimeter defense with Wemby.

If Atlanta don't want him, I don't want him. He's their Jalen Green. Pass. Give me a 2-way player every day.

If the Pistons get the 1st pick in the draft...

Trade Jalen Green & Sengun & Nets 2025 pick for Auser Thompson and Sarr; draft Reed Sheppard

    Amen Thompson
    Reed Sheppard
    Cam Whitmore
    Auser Thompson
    Jabari Smith
    Sarr
    Tari Eason

If you can get a defense with:

    Thompson
    Thompson
    Tari Eason
    Jabari
    Sarr

    Shooting with:

    Cam
    Jabari
    Sheppard

    Ime approves!

You are overrating Sarr and underrating Sengun. That would be a horrible trade for the Rockets. Adding another SF that can’t shoot is also insane at this point. That 25 pick is incredibly valuable and will get you a much better haul, much less adding Sengun and Jalen Green.

Trae and Yao would've been something to watch. Trae and Sengun? Not so much

Taking Trae after having Harden is like buying a Maza Miata after your Porche was towed.

KAT for Jabari, Brooks and filler (Adams/Jeff) anyone? Terrible contract but definite improvement over Jabari. Addresses our biggest weakness (shooting)

    Both of Portland’s FRPs
    For
    Jalen Green

Bring the core back and go shopping in with the picks. There is some really nice shooters that play both sides of the ball. Dream would be BOTH the Kentucky guards and the big @ the14th spot from France.

Green in Portland adds to the younger core of guards they have —> he maybe become an all star 6th man. His Improvement is undeniable, but I still don’t wanna pay him. Getting 2 lottery picks is reasonable return. Green has a better than average chance of being successful. He just doesn’t fit with our coach.

    Going forward:
    FVV, Dillingham
    Cam, Amen, Shappard
    Tari, Brooks (trade ASAP), Amen
    Bari, Tari, Salaun
    Sengun, Adams

I think coach could do something really special with this group, because they are ALL his type of players. I truly believe there is an all star or three in this mix. Working the rookies in should be easy. Dillingham with FVV as his mentor could be a better match. Salaun and Shappard are both the top sleepers of this draft. High motor, defensive shooting from high IQ players is a winning combination. They will earn playing time quickly.
