Interesting. This might describe my wife, although "recovering" isn't what I'd use. "Non-practicing" would be more appropriate. I'll have to see if I can get her to take the quiz.

Her uncle is a priest, who spent 30 years as a missionary in Japan. He visits us once a year during the winter (to play golf... there's usually 2 feet of snow at that time of the year, where he still "does his thing."), and says mass at the kitchen table, no doubt praying for our salvation. He's a wonderful guy, and very conservative in his politics, unlike many Catholic priests, at least from what I've read over the years. He used to attempt to get me to develop an interest in his faith... thinking that I was the "fly in the ointment" as far as getting my wife to "return to the church" and have our kids (being raised as good Liberal Democrats! ;) ) become Catholic. Thank goodness, he's given up on me. If he's still workin' on my wife, he doesn't do it around my kids and I.

Religion is facinating stuff. No doubt about it.
(I still think we're decended from aliens... "shipwrecked" on our lonely planet, and mucking around with our chimps and apes)

some of the questions on the Christian quiz have non-mutually exclusive answers. the kingdom of god question in particular, it seems to me, has multiple answers.

I think that's true of any test.

The Catholic quiz had 'are you influenced by..' on a question.

I think most people's answer should be yes...but the degree to which it affects your posiiton might be different. I didn't know there was such a thing as 'progressive catholic' but i'll be adding it to my resume.

The Catholic test was kind of lame, such as only giving one form of prayer to do and what not. Not a real gauge, especially when it said my favorite Pope is Pius X when it really is JPII. :D

    1. Orthodox Quaker (100%)
    2. Seventh Day Adventist (100%)
    3. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (95%)

i go to a seventh day adventist church, although i don't necessarily follow all of their doctrine. however it's the closest to what i believe from what i've found.

    You are a spiritual seeker.
Ibn Battuta traveled the Muslim world looking for answers. Like this famous traveler, you are also looking for answers and have also found yourself wandering through the world of Islam. The spiritual realm of Islam particularly appeals to you. You probably toy with the idea of Sufism and may enjoy reading mystic poets such as Rumi or Hafez. For you, Islam is a state of being that leads to your ultimate connection to God through your submission to Him. Although Islam often guides you on many practical questions, you are more likely than not looking to connect to God and others on a more spiritual level. Many of the social regulations or rules of Islam may seem daunting and unnecessary. You continue to have questions, as well as faith.
