?

Should he have been given a second chance and not banned for life?

  1. Yes, NBA should instead have suspended him for # of games. A lifetime ban was not necessary.

"There is nothing more important than protecting the integrity of NBA competition for our fans, our teams and everyone associated with our sport, which is why we continue to employ Scott Foster, Tony Brothers and previously the likes of Tim Donaghy, Ken Mauer and Eric Lewis.”

Silver talking about integrity is pretty damn hilarious, but betting like this should be a lifetime ban. Of course silver should be banned for life as well

NBA had no choice but to come down as hard as possible; of course they did have the choice to not get involved with online gambling in the first place, of which this was the easily foreseeable consequence.

Does this really protect the league or does it protect the casinos/sportsbook? Some nobody betting on his minutes and availability, did it impact a game? Or did it lose the Sportsbook a lot of money?

he should most certainly be suspended. Maybe even banned. But it seems like this (specifically) is more of an impact to sports bettors than the league’s integrity. Worry about the long term effects of the embrace sports betting tho…

It definitely helped the sportsbook because they didn't have to pay out the $1.1 million to the guy he tipped off.
That's honestly a dumb move by that person if he is a known associate, it doesn't take much investigation to connect him to Porter on such a big prop bet. Nobody would have taken that bet before sports gambling was legalized and you risked having your knees broken or worse doing that to a bookie in the old days.

When they tell you to "bet on yourself" I don't think they mean bet the under. It's actually kinda sad lol

i hope he goes on a long crusade against the nba and publishes a tell-all book about who else in the nba is dirty, possibly naming or at least alluding to some team usa level stars.

that’s pretty bad and well deserving of a lifetime ban

Regardless of whatever BS Adam Silver is talking about with regards to “integrity of the game” while overseeing things like Rockets-Warriors game 7, how can u as a teammate ever trust another teammate who was involved in prop bets on himself and bets for the team to lose? U have no shame or integrity, and you’re compromised as a teammate.
