I just ordered one as I tried my bro's and it made some good apple juice. I have a hard time eating the recommended vegetables and fruits for the day. I figure if I can juice up some of that...then that will make me want to consume more healthy foods that I would miss out on otherwise. Plus, Amazon had a $20 off kitchen appliance deal so I got it cheaper with free shipping. I couldn't say no. I ordered this juice extraction mechanism and this is one cool juicer to watch in action. The amount of apple juice it extracted out of four smaller apples was nothing short of phenomenal. I believe that you lose out on the fiber when you juice but you get the nutrients and vitamins so seems like a win-win proposition. Even if you use it only some, then it would pay for itself. I will use it for a pick-me-up in the morning. I don't drink coffee so... . I usually skip breakfast and I hope to change that by juicing. So, does anyone here juice and, if so, then what juicer do you have and what are your favorite juice recipes? My understanding is I will also be able to make some kick-ass alcoholic mixed drinks so I'm looking forward to that to. Or, it will just be another appliance in Unused Appliance Hell(UAH). I guess time will tell. Surf
thats a man's juicer! not some pansy juicer...600 watts! pansy juicer: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t...4-6335141-2853534?v=glance&s=kitchen&n=286168
This one is easier to clean is my understanding. I actually watched my bro clean it up and he didn't seem to have much trouble. But, I know this will restrict the usage of the juicer. So, I think you can make a large quantity and freeze the unused portions. I guess the shelf life in the refrigerator is 1-3 days or something.
I've got a LeQuip (-sp) Juicer... It only has like 4 parts to clean. It also juices like a mofo.... My favorite juice is 1 apple, 6 carrots, half a beet and piece of ginger. That's some good stuff. I also bought an apple slicer, it slices the apple and cuts out the core... that's real handy. You can juice just about any veggie then throw in some apple and it's not that bad.
Mark me down as a juicer. Don't like the cleanup either though. Carrot-apple is pretty much all I make. You don't have to de-core the apple either, if you don't want to.
used to use a juicer, but the cleaning wasn't worth the juice. so now its back to minute maid and sunny d for me.
I have the Breville Juice Fountain. It's a great juicer for the price, cleanup is a breeze, 1-2 mins max. I wouldn't recommend juicing watermelon, for some odd reason it has a plastic taste. The only thing I juice now is HoneyDew, definitely give it a try, you'll be amazed by the taste
Juicer here. I'm on my second juicer, Green Star Juice Extractor. My first was a centrifugal ejection juicer. My next will be a Norwalk. I juice only vegetables except when I add apples for taste. I blend all my fruits...for fiber. Basically, just two general types of juice: Red and green...(okay, I'm not creative naming my drinks) Both have apples, carrots and celery. Green has spinach, red has beets and sweet potatoes. Of course I add whatever happens to look good in the produce section of HEB and whatever is leftover in the fridge. Example: Along with Red or Green's ingredients, I would add (my spelling is going to get bad), ginger, garlic, sprouts, asparagas, cucumbers, broccoli or califlower, tomatoes, etc...just anything and hope the apples will kill any unwanted flavors. I tend to make 3 qts at a time and store them in 8oz mason jars. To think we drink our concoctions for taste is inconceivable. BUT the nutritional value is TOO GOOD to pass up or ignore. So...juice, be merry and drink. RR "live to ride"
