Can’t afford to keep all the young guys. But, I especially like Amen, Cam, and Tari. Don’t need to make any big decisions this offseason. Things are fluid.
I mean, you have to make an initial decision regarding Sengun and Green extensions. IMO, you offer Sengun a rookie max without a second thought.
Still see Green and Sengun as who you build around. If you are trying to make things out of the last couple of games where Ime was trying to see what we have in our rookies with Green being passive with noting to play for then so be it. I don't think you want to see how ugly it looks if Amen and Cam were getting Green's defensive attention.
I want people to imagine Cam or Amen being able to do what Green did in the OKC game as an example as in elite defenders blitzing and concentrating on stopping Green and still dominating.
remember last season when Stone was touting Boban as an example of how the rockets had good culture? Lol
I think at this point it's pretty clear the "young core" is Amen, Cam, and Alpi. I'd love to include Tari, but I'm just not sure he exists anymore. Jabari is just a guy and the rest are either not young or not keepers.
Guys I love: #1 - Alpi, #2 - Amen and #3 - Cam. All have areas to improve in their games, but they each bring a spark and some unique skills to our team. #4 - Jabari. Should be perfect PF to fit with the three above. Excited to see his progress next year and if he fills out a little more. He really should be #3, but Cam has that "it factor" that makes me believe in him. #5 - Jalen is an enigma when it comes to team building. His flash and streaks can be so tantalizing, but his carelessness and inconsistent efforts drive me mad. He could easily be 2b if he can pull it all together--I still have hope. #6 - Tari. Here's hoping he returns healthy and has continued to work on his game. I think not having him in our rotations cost us the play-in, maybe even the playoffs--he brings the dawg!
It's too early to Include Cam. I like him a lot but he's got some really bad habits and is really up and down. He's a young player so that's to be expected but gotta pump the breaks there. Alpi and Amen for me right now. If Cam takes that leap next season then he's in the conversation
