    Leon not panning out really hurts. Sorry Chas and meyers are jags.
    The lack of top to good pitching prospects after the 2021 guys came up. Both SP and relief
    Forrest Whitley not panning out
    No development of a 1B prospect, knowing it was going to be a need with an aging Yuli.
    Throwing money at an aging 1B to fill that whole. Crippling them from being able to sign top SP FAs and bats that are competitive.

    it’s all coming to head now

    Avoiding the sweep tomorrow appears a tall task. Singer has been amazing (ERA sub-1,00 in two starts) and Brown, well, has not.

    Every leverage guy is on the brink of fatigue, Montero included.

    Not sure what's more likely -- a good performance from Hunter or the offense doing work against Singer.

    The subpar farm system is a partial reflection from the cheating scandal. High draft picks are valuable.

    Giving away a championship last season really hurt. We needed to capitalize on every opportunity.

    Crane profited from the cheating. He can offset the damage by spending more, although Abreu is stealing money.

    All teams rely on at least a few FA signings to fill their rosters, so I don’t blame them too much for failing to develop a good 1B internally.

    The problem was that they failed to account for the amount of downside risk with this deal bc of the back of the baseball card and all. No way Click would have advised signing him and possibly Dana wouldn’t have either.

    For the pitching…they just have a **** load of injuries. Few orgs roll 10 deep with MLB caliber starting pitchers.

    The last 2 things you listed are the main cause.

    I would put losing 5 quality SP's including a HOF'er is the main reason they are where they're at today. But lack of hitting in the clutch by several guys is the main reason, as well as a shallow bullpen. Last nights AB by Meyers was pathetic. Almost as bad as 95% of Abreu's at bats this season.

    Gotta find a way to get Caratini more AB's and bring up Loperfido/Leon.
