Four of those shots were end of quarter/shot clock heaves that had a very low chance of going in, eliminate those and he’s 6/13. Still not great, but not bad either. Here’s the thing—Jalen’s either going to get more consistent at shooting and become a star, or he won’t and never come close to his potential. The end of the season has at proven to me that he can be a useful player even without a consistent shot, but I absolutely hope he will work his ass off to improve his most glaring weakness
Yes, Jalen has improved and made his 3rd year leap but he cannot shoot. The last 3 years he has not shot over 45%(Field Goal Percentage)…he is not a good shooter and he is a Shooting Guard…
If we end the season at 41-41, I would say we surpassed almost everyone’s predictions in the preseason. That said, if someone told me that 40ish wins wouldn’t even be enough for a play-in spot, I’d have looked at them like they were crazy. Almost reminds me of that crazy year in the west where Denver won 51 games and was the 8th seed (and we had 22 in a row)

His shooting inconsistency is his most glaring issue, and I have to agree that Jalen has yet to truly prove to us that he can be a better shooter, especially against defenses that are keyed in on him. My eye test says that his shot looks way better, more compact and a better release. But my eye test also told me that Ben Simmons would be one of the best players in the league by year 5…thus, I trust numbers more than any eye test now. I believe that Udoka has unlocked something in Jalen, but I am probably one of the most positively-biased people on the site when it comes to our players. I hope Jalen can prove me right over the offseason and justify my belief in him
He hit his threes pretty well and had some good finishes as well which is encouraging but I'm sorry, when a PG (Fultz) punks and overpowers you it just ruins it for me. (Herro did the same thing in the heat game) I actually wish they didn't call the o-foul because Amen had the block right after it and didn't get credit for it. Matter of fact Udoka is really starting to P^&* me off. I don't care if he did win a challenge We came out of a timeout late in the 4th with 17 seconds on the shot clock and he had them simply pass the ball to Amen non-chalantly in the back court with no set play and only 1 second to get the ball across. They scramble for a hard double and Amen can't do anything but try to throw it across the line which they easily steal. Ime, you just can't be THAT unaware and unprepared!
