The good thing about the win streak is that it set the stage for 2 disastrously disheartening losses against 2 of the biggest rivals in a few days
It's been a long time since I felt fumes long after the game, probably not since 2019. Time to let it go and move on, but man that was hard to witness. We all knew Mavs were gonna come back, it's inevitable, and they always find a way against us, but we really did have some fight. They took what, a 1pt lead with <5min left and then we ran off 9 straight and had a 8pt lead with 3min left and I was proud of our guys on the road for a bit. I have whiskey in hand and just wish we hadn't been embarrassed 3x in one week (Mavs twice, and the Warriors/Eason thing). If anything, this week went about as badly as it could have, and ending on this note was quite the knockout punch. Time to forget it.
Perspective. The season was over after Golden State the other night. Frankly, I'm surprised they were competitive in this game. They were only playing for pride. Really not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things.
Just Houston sports where they always choke on free throws at ends of games. Sengun, Jabrari, and others. Here’s a crazy thought, bring in 90+% Aaron Holiday and end these games. FVV always struggles to get open on the inbound passes, so have both him and Holiday in there. The ball should never touch Jabrari’s hands.
Basically make a FT in the clutch boys. The game didn't matter. The experience did. Hopefully they can learn from failure (esp. Jabari) - the path to greatness is about failing forward, learning to win on the back of the experiences of loss.
Odd take 1. Aaron 2. Fred 3. Dillon 4. Jabari That should be the order of who gets the ball simply based on season FT%. I am ok with a 20yr old choking - but let's see if he learns and grows from it next year!
idk why ppl are so upset over this game, we weren't making the playoffs either way. We weren't making it far this year anyways, but next year will actually have expectations. If we don't even secure a minimum playoff appearance, this rebuild will have essentially failed.
They essentially forked themselves with that Phase 2 and Phase 3 Press Conference and then Kevin Porter Junior came up and hugged Ime Udoka..... Not the best of signs. PR hit after PR hit. Why don't you just sit back and declare everything above 30 Wins a resounding Success and Nobody would give a fork......you are screwing yourself with those lofty expectations without even a Superstar....pray for Victor was pretty pathetic. Maybe they can add all their Fertitta Kids onto that Infamous Mural.
It's hard not to be upset over choking a game against an in-state rival. Not to mention it's important to end the season on a high note going into the offseason.
For my Internity as a fan this will always leave a bad taste in my mouth although not as bad as losing Game 7 by 40 after being up 2-0 in a series
