Here's an excerpt, on the suggestion that the rules be changed to prevent Hack-a-Shaq: "What's next? Maybe a ramp down one side of the lane so 5-3 Muggsy Bogues can have an easier time making layups. Or entire games shortened to just 10 minutes so Kelvin Cato can give an all-out effort every night." ------------------ "It's always funny until someone gets hurt...and then it's just hilarious." -Faith No More
Good article with some good points. I was also thinking the league should do something about the Hack-A-Shaq, but not to assist his game. Basically I just got tired of Portland fouling him repeatedly, thus slowing down the game to a crawl. It was pretty much unwatchable at that pace. Now, I say leave it as it is. It IS Shaq's problem, not the leagues. If it slows down the game, so be it. Just because he couldn't hit the side of a barn doesn't mean the game should change. It's totally ridiculous. ------------------ We need some meat in the post!
Actually, I only got real interested in the game when they started the Hack-a-Shaq. I don't want either team to win, so I was having a pretty miserable time. Until 5 1/2 minutes. I don't think anyone has ever started doing it so early. I was much intrigued. In fact, I was even anxious to see if the strategy would work. The game would have been a waste of two hours if it hadn't been for those three and a half minutes. Of course, I'm not like most people: I like watching ugly ball; I loved the old in-and-out offense we had. ------------------ http://www.gaffordstudios.cjb.net/
