Has Jalen ever outdueled a superstar guard in a direct matchup, or held his own? Like Doncic, Edwards, Harden, Shai, Booker, Haliburton? I know Jalen has been great for a month against lesser teams/teams playing without a superstar guard. But does he shrink or grow when it goes against the best at his position? One thing I know with Alpi is that he had his best games against Wemby, Jokic, Sabonis, AD/Lebron, Chet. He gets up for the big matchups at his position.
He had his career high against Ant in a win last season. I remember that. aylen Williams is a rising star guard. He outdueled him. He's outdueled Fox before. He's won multiple games against Booker. He's outdueled LaMelo.
I don’t really see where you’re going with this post. It’s not a real narrative. Star guards where Jalen has played well? Just from the beginning of January, he threw up 34 against Booker twice, 34 against Lebron, 30 against Halliburton, 36 against Ball. 28 against Cade. I’m not going through all the box scores but since his rookie year my perception has always been that he gets more hyped for games against bigger player/opponents because so much of what determined a good game from him was confidence. Jalen didn’t shrink from big matchups, just watch him, he loves to talk ****. He was just purely inconsistent because that’s who he was.
It's encouraging that he held his own in the last two games against Booker. Booker outscored him in 8/10 games so far, Edwards in 7/9, Doncic 6/6. But to be fair, they are all older/more experienced. I think he has the potential to get to Booker's and Edwards' level.
Luka coming off his titles in Real Madrid was more advanced than Jalen Green after Year 2 of Silas. That guy is just on another level, there is probably only 1 or 2% Jalen Green comes close to that level .... He is just another Westbrook who relied heavily on his athleticism.
Dude is 21. He already had a good game vs JDub. Those other guys you mentioned are all older than Green. Sengun is a lot further along than Green because Green played in GLI while Sengun played in Euroleague.

He has outdueled Edwards, that one i can confirm. Nothing wrong with getting a 40 piece from Luka who's arguably a top 5 player right now. Pretty unfair comparison really. Wemby, Sabonis, Chet are not superstars. Alpi has had good games against Jokic, but has never outplayed him.
Brooks and Fred make over 60 million this year combined and they scored a total of 10 points last night, but it was totally all Jalen's fault we lost. Yawn. Predictable posts after an insane stretch. I hope it doesn't affect his contention for player of the month.
