I am not on social media, nor I live in Houston, but what I can see from CF forums, I disagree with you. I hope you are right, though

The majority of Black folks who were imprisoned and sold into slavery were not Muslim. A very small minority were Muslim yes, but the majority were either Abwoi, Akan, Dahomean, Efik, Edo, Hausa, Ejo, Igbo and many more. They were tribes centered around beliefs in the spirit world and supernatural beings it is why your ancestors called us savages not worthy of being equal with their faith and divinities. One of the biggest problems on these difficult topics is that so many of you still espouse a whitewashed version of history and will never believe what the actual truths were about many of your heroes. My college thesis centered around these topics so tread lightly because it is a very passionate subject for me and I dont want to embarass you any further. You can enjoy your blissful interpretation of YOUR history, but please dont think everyone is as ignorant.

You want Sengun gone? Whatever. Utah could be a good place for him and his fans. (See how marginalizing people works?) You want this one guy on this one talk show to be sorry for what he said? Fine. All I stated is how I still remember all the horseshit accusations of racism that were flung about by the SOFs and I wouldnt be surprised if another brother did too. You're on a slippery slope old school.

Abwoi, Akan, Dahomean, Efik, Edo, Hausa, Ejo, Igbo...these are ethnic groups, for once. Hausa, especially is present from West Africa all the way to Sudan in East Africa. I appreciate your passion but you are wrong! I appreciate your passion and writing a thesis about your history is awesome but it is my job to know those things. You see you are making a mistake by belittling others experiences again. You are not embarrassing me at all! And if there is something to learn from you, I will welcome it as a student of history. (I am not literally a student! Just saying)

However, I wish you could use your knowledge about history to show some passion for others...

So do we have to define religion first? You are saying the Western tribes of Africa followed Mohamed. They did not. It shouldnt even take some random to make this point clear to a "student of History" again this belies on WHICH HISTORY you are aligning with. There are MANY inconvenient truths that my white brothers are unable to admit to and understandably so. It doesnt change the facts. You are trying to pigeonhole me into a persona that is not existent. For the guys who've known me here for the last decade plus racism is hardly ever a topic I seek out. I inject my experiences into discussions when prodded, but I know my truth and that of my ancestors. I dont need a white guy to tell me about my black experience and whether you think that racist or not is really not my problem. If you think the black guy was being racist by calling Sengun a "Turkish Stiff" it again delves back into white fragility and the inability to admit mistakes that led up to the cause and effect of this particular outrage.

Right! You do you and I will do me...I have had many Western African friends complaining about getting discriminated by their native-born black Americans, when I was getting my MS...

Dont believe this white boy but then dont send me stuff about how Turkey is racist, written by other white boys, especially the French ones with clear agendas...

Ahhh yes the famous "I have a black friend" retort. Its even more convenient when arguing a futile position. Now you are conflating topics. If you asked me if there was prejudice between "native" black people and Africans I would agree, but that wasnt your point was it? If your dissertation was on this topic then I highly doubt you had to go in front of a committee to defend your position because if you did then the flaws in your stance would have been evident, but that may lie on which institution you studied at and at which time. I'd have to guess it was when America was "great" but long before the advent of critical race studies. If you want to bury your head in the sand and try and convince yourself that Turkey is a bulwark of civil rights then I have no choice but to laugh.

I am not a representative of Turkey but I know generalizations are used for agendas. Since you brought it up, Those generalizations, including a black person cannot be racist, are and will always be WRONG. My head is not in the sand but yours definitely is.

So for the record "Turkish Stiff" is racist yes? What would the Turkish people prefer to be called? Caucasian stiffs? Is that more PC to your liking?

You are a smart dude! Go figure the way in the context it was used. What if I was a journalist I, without provocation started calling "Lazy Jalen." Would that be okay? In what context? What if I called Giannis that Weird African Stiff from Greece?
