ABSOLUTE TERROR DEFENSIVELY LOL Good thing Sengun just avoided major injury otherwise the agenda would really look pathetic, as it is it’s par for the course trying to twist anything and everything into some anti Sengun narrative. I hope the guy is just genuinely trying to troll Sengun fans, which is sad but at least he wouldn’t be doing it unknowingly, just some deep subconscious hate, in which case seek help.
Rather than enjoying a unique, potential mvp talent, you devote your show and posts to trolling Sof. The only person who would believe this is the one who would do it himself, who is actually the one that came up with theory. Do i need to give the name os this poster?
Sengun is the superstar of this team, no center in NBA right now fills his court vision other than Jokic or Sabonis and there is no way Houston get Jokic or Sabonis, he is this in that tier. Writing down bad things about an injured player is not ethical, even animals understand this. This kid has just having hard time about injury and after Portland win, we started to talk about playinn chances again, thanks to great overall yearly performance of Van Fleet and Sengun mainly. These two carried us. Just respect and try to be a human being( for the ones, they know themselves)
I watched the game, and they didn't look like "an absolute terror defensively" to me. It was a game between two pretty bad teams with pretty bad defensive lapses on both sides, luckily we came out on top. Now that we have seen some of the tweets from one of the most important Rockets fan accounts, run by a loyal die-hard Rockets fan, here is a nice, positive, supportive tweet from a non-Rocket fan account about our injured franchise player.
Another important Rockets fan/media account, and the appropriate response. It's amazing how a Rockets fan account seems to simply dismiss what just happened when these two players matched up.
By the way, I don't think what Ime said was problematic or wrong at all either. He is just saying we have to adjust and make the best of it. So I think Turkish fans reacting negatively towards Ime are misunderstanding what he said. I also think that those who post this as some kind of indictment by Ime of Alpi's defensive abilities or effort are projecting their own bias into this - big time.
FIFY. (Parenthetically, if Sengun is eligible for that kind of money now, WTF do we think Green's agent is gonna request? And by "Green", I don't mean Uncle Jeff.)
Yeah, NBA international players have fanatics. Not just fans. Fanatics. So every little thing provokes knee-jerk reactions. This isn't on a Jeremy Lin level (or is it?), but it's in the same category.
Just to expand on this - let's have a look at the stats. Yes, it's Wemby's first season. Yes, he is a unique talent, and you can't teach height. Age-wise, he is a year and a half younger than Sengun. Not that much younger. So, purely looking at the stats, they both look fantastic for a player their age. Very comparable in points and rebounds. Wemby is the better shot blocker (surprise...he's 7'5 or whatever), Alpi is the better passer. Wemby is slightly better at 3-point shooting, but has a worse FG % overall (he shoots a TON of threes, for whatever reason). Head-to-Head, Alpi completely destroyed Wemby this season, as we know. Record-wise, the Spurs are much worse. You could blame that on them having a worse supporting cast, of course. Here are the advanced stats: I would say the advanced stats show what the eye test seems to indicate as well: Sengun is the superior and more skilled offensive player, Wembanyama has the bigger defensive impact. Both are a net positive both on offense AND on defense, it's just the weighting of the individual's strengths that is different. Of course, they would have complemented each other perfectly with their particular strengths, but that is a moot point. The question I am asking myself is, why does a Rockets "fan"/media account proclaim that Wembanyama will be the best player in the NBA, while making tweets saying the Rockets are not high on our own franchise player, when our own franchise player just completely destroyed the guy from the rival team in a head-to-head matchup, and their counting stats/advanced stats are very similar, and they are similar in age?
I think it’s unfair to compare a 3rd year player on a team trying to make the playoffs to a rookie on a team that is tanking.
