Now we don't have to worry about Redding breaking the losing streak!

Great game from Perez though... the most dominant I've seen anybody pitch against them since Kerry Wood or Kevin Brown in 1998.

    DAMN.

I didn't shave or get my haircut during this streak; I told everybody I wouldn't until the Astros lost a game. I was hoping to go ZZ Top byt next spring.

    Oh well, time to shave.

    3-0 second game though :]

although if we win, we cancel out our games played today in terms of gaining or losing ground on the giants

Because they were rained out Tuesday, April 27.

[It's a shame Doubleheaders aren't really scheduled anymore, but I guess that's better than raising ticket prices that much more...]

Split. Cubs off. Giants off. Marlins lose. All in all, not a terrible outcome.

The winning streak had to end sometime, and sweeping a doubleheader is always a difficult proposition.

Jason Alfaro is a guy who came out of nowhere to explode for Round Rock a few years ago - the annual "Breakout Hitter for the Express". He played nice defense, had a nice slashing swing - he then followed it with nice seasons at AAA - so he should be a solid platoon player.
