Not getting better at the RB position with all of the talent available really appears to be a huge miss and something Nick should be criticized for. I still give him benefit of the doubt but very disappointing to say the least. Hope there’s another big win for the defense otherwise it appears we put all our eggs in the Barkley basket with no backup plan.
I'm not sure how much money they have left to spend given what they've handed out already. Just because most of those players are nothing special doesn't mean those contracts don't add up in a hurry. They also have to leave money left over for their draft pool, so I'm thinking maybe one or two of those tops is the best anyone could hope for and one is a lot more likely than two.
Flip a coin if it’s between one of these two. Color me unimpressed if this is the best we do at this point. Would almost rather sign Henry and play the revenge factor.
I'm honestly more concerned about the defense given all we've lost and what little we've picked up to replace it than I am about a RB body. If they manage to land Queen, that changes everything, but right now the defense has taken quite a hit over last year.
It's weird that priority #1 right out the gate was to go after Barkley then going completely silent (including letting Singletary walk) on RB's since as guys go off the board. Still some options left but I will be concerned if our RB room going into the season is JK Dobbins, Pierce, Middle/late round rookie. Still lots of holes to plug across the roster as well, legit starting corner being the most glaring to me right now.
Leading rusher vs RB room spend. One example - Seahawks 2013. Leading rusher was Beast Mode on $8.5m, not Harvin. Don’t always believe what you see.
I guess we disagree. Henry did fine catching passes with Tannehill. His numbers went down with Levis, but CJ is a more accurate passer. As for injury risk, Henry is a medium risk and Mixon is a very high risk. That's based on injury history according to draft sharks. Henry is also a bigger tank for moving the chains on short yardage. We can draft a youngster next year in the early rounds that's a top prospect.
That corner position is a necessity. We let one of our best cornerbacks go, and were ranked 19th last year. I'm hoping for our #1 pick to be a CB.
Because this is for the Super Bowl itself. Not the season. Harvin had more yards than Lynch in the Super Bowl
Agreed. The defense is the most important area to address and Queen + Armstead would be huge moves if we can afford it.
We haven’t let Nelson go yet. They could still bring him back or sign Howard. Right now the Dline (which was weak already) is a wash at end (being generous) but down big at tackle. they almost have to bring back rankins. Was hoping for better.
Yes understood. I always post setting roughly $9 million aside for rookies. (per Spotrac) Went back to draft simulator: Picked: Cooper DeSean (CB) Dez Walker (WR) Bucky Irving (RB) Christian Jones (OT) McKinley-Jackson (DT) Mustapha (S)
Give me Derrick Henry and Deandre Hopkins, I want to beat Amy Adams Strunk next year with her players, wearing her colors...suck it Titans...
