Ferntits has an IV bag/needles, a blender and some Bloody Mary mix that could patch Alpi up inside a meat locker freezer in no time.

So looks like the hyper extension wasn’t that bad…. But that ankle man. Geez. I’d love it to be just a sprain but that looked awful.

I've done this to my ankle 2x. The swelling is so bad that you wear it like a badge. I anticipate Alpi posting some swelling pics in the next few days. Kobe did the same thing late in his career and posted pics.

I think Alpi is done for the season because he uses his pivot foot a lot. Paint footwork hurts a sprained ankle way more than the running and cutting a perimeter player would emphasize.

This could really help his free throws.

Well definitely glad it isn’t a tear/break. I wanted us to perform the miracle. I still do. Curry is out and Lebron has been hurt. Maybe we get lucky. Still, I wouldn’t rush Alpi back for it. If we make the playin and he’s almost ready, I would still keep him out. If we got lucky and made the playoffs and he was pretty much ready, I’d let him play. Chances aren’t very high that happens AND he recovers that fast.

silver linings, now other guys get to step up and go into the offseason, hopefully, with some growth and confidence.

Thank every single god in existence and non existence that this injury is not on the too serious end. Still ankle sprains need to be carefully dealt with or they become reoccurring.

if it took a couple weeks to heal then it was not a “severe ankle sprain”

typical recovery timeline for a Grade 3 ankle sprain is 3-6 months. Speaking from experience, it takes quite some time feeling comfortable doing any kind of basketball movements, even set shots. The compensations you make for the pain ingrains bad habits.

If I'm the Spurs and saw what I saw from the compadres in Houston, I'd shut down Wemby.
    No agenda here.

That diagnosis was well worth the wait.
On a side note, AS takes his flamingo shots off his left foot.
    Get well big fella.

I had my ankles casted 12 times from hoopin (crossover, drive the lane, and come down on a foot)...all before the age of 38. One of the many reasons I'm Plow. :D Alperen will be fine.

Fantastic news for Alpe! I'm so glad Turkey didn't qualify for the Olympics, could have had another Yao moment with a National Team rushing back an injured player

Praise God that Alpi escaped any tears or breaks in his ankle!
I don't just want him shut down for the rest of the season though.
I want him shut down from anything "Turkey" related for this summer as well!
Give him time to rest, fully heal and maybe work on his NBA skills if there's time!
