I am cautiously optimistic. I absolutely obliterated my ankle in the same way Alpi did back in highschool and I missed 6-7 months of basketball because of it. The difference is - I had to rely on rehabbing my ankle mostly on my own, while Sengun will have the best sports injury physio in the world

From what I understand, they see if the injury responds to non surgical treatment first. If after a few weeks if it’s not healing properly, then surgery might be needed.

Probably because he was told it wasn't a major injury.

The best thing about bone bruise and ankle sprain is that he will be able to work on his 3pt shot and fts. ACL would be a disaster because he would just sleep all day, eat snacks and get fat.

Have you ever had a severely sprained ankle?

you absolutely cannot work on shooting. It’s not possible unless you wanna screw up your mechanics with bad habits

Yes i did. It was really bad. It took couple of weeks to heal but once you start feeling comfortable stepping on it it starts getting better and you feel more confident doing the tasks. While it looks like a bad sprain i don't think he'll be in a walking boot and crutches for 5 months. I give it a 2 months. He is a professional athlete and can hire the greatest physiotherapist ever lived to fasten up the process. When we roll our ankle we apply ice on it and take ibuprofen.

He should be able to feel comfortable doing most of the stuff he usually does in 2-3 months.

This is saving Wembenyama too. Yoga should be mandatory for all bigs at least. Flexibility can save you from major tears.
