Safeties going the way of RBs? NFL making clear safeties no longer worth the money: Why league's view on position has changed in recent years
Mike McD isn't stupid. Texans are a conference rival he is not going to give Demeco any useful information and might even give him misleading information.
I feel ya! But if Saquon goes to Eagles that means that Swift is not resigning. I wouldn't mind swift as a consolation RB!! He's younger player and can be had at a lower price according to Spotrac. All things being equal, I'd prefer Saquon though... Go Texans!!! ....... ....... .......
Feels weird to be on the other end, but the Saquon to Philly talk appears to be an attempt to put pressure on the Texans. Usually Houston teams tend to be the team used to gain leverage, this point we are on the other side of that leverage, and it feels good
They are interested, but Saquon has not hid his desire to come play in Houston. I get the sense that Caserio is going to comb through the RB market before he makes his move
How does Henry + Singletary leave room for adding others but not just Barkley? I think the former would actually be more expensive
It came down to their salary cap situation. Based on Spotrac, they are currently $16M over the cap with only 42 players signed. Even after Xavien Howard's release is official as a Post-June 1st cut, that will only save them $18M. I don't think they have a choice but to let him walk. Here's an article on this: https://www.miamiherald.com/sports/nfl/miami-dolphins/article286171411.html EDIT: Not to mention, Tagovailoa's contract is up next year, and he stands to get a significant raise. Having another $20+M contract on the roster would make it much harder to get the extension done.
I like the Simmons addition but White would have to be a project, 4th in the rotation. He hasn't played very much in 3 seasons due to injury.
Inside source: Simmons is looking at Philly or Miami RN BUT it is still too early. He had pretty good idea he was going to be released or asked to restructure. For those that don't know, he is from down herein South-ish Florida.
