Agreed about random stat posts. But, there's a reason to pick the big name players. These guys are usually the go-to guy during clutch situations. And they are usually the focus of opposing defense in the clutch. So it should be expected that their clutch efficiency is lower than normal efficiency. And the non-go-to players might have higher efficiency because they shoot more open shots.
These are very high quality shots. They shot 70% on those 3s. Unbelievable. This is sengun clogging the paint, lol.
20. Houston Rockets Last week: 20 There might be no ceiling on Alperen Şengün. Şengün followed up a 45-point, 16-rebound effort with a 23-point, 19-rebound, 14-assist outburst against the Clippers the next night. Şengün is confident, wildly talented and when he develops a three-point shot—and believe me, at 21, it’s coming—he has Jokić-like potential.
Never forget that Stephen Silas started Bruno Fernando over Alperen Sengun. He was paid millions of dollars to do so. Never forget
of course the twitter world is based on attention, but saying he is 100th in clutch efficiency is also misleading. As you said you need to look at a comparable population. Sengun has 103 minutes of clutch time. Among 41 players with 90 minutes or more clutch time: 14th in fg% 5th in fta 40th in ft% 8th in steals
Yes and no Efficiency(TS%) of some higher usage guys in “clutch” situations this season https://www.nba.com/stats/players/clutch-advanced?dir=A&sort=TS_PCT Curry : 70.3 Embiid : 59.9 Mitchell : 61.9 Jokic : 67.5 Rozier : 67.9 Young : 62.3 James : 62.6 Simons : 69.7 Derozan : 64.6 JJJ : 57.2 Lillard : 64.4 Brunson : 57.2 Doncic : 61.7 SGA : 69.3 Irving : 73.9 Haliburton : 83.3 Booker : 59.8 Randle : 64.4 Giannis : 67.0 Davis : 64.4 George : 73.2 The list really does go on for quite a bit. It was a fairly misleading tweet to isolate a few truly great players who have struggled in the clutch this season and say Alpy is better than them in those scenarios. The reality is he hasn’t been that great(efficiency wise)in the clutch for the season. Which is fine, again I’m not here to hate on Sengun, just the misleading tweet.
that's insulting to the Turkish League/euroweenie coaches Ankara-what's-his-name is so high on. reported.
Question: What do the top three players have in common? Hint: Starts with an M and ends with a P. Go Rockets!!! ....... ....... .......
v Sengun was not himself for the last month leading up to these last two games when he looked like his normal self. Was that due to his back, a "hangover" for the disappointment from not being selcted to the all-star game, a scheme change by Ime, him not adjusting well to becoming the focal point of opposing defense, etc.....? I am not sure if we will ever know. Whatever it was it looks like the real Alpi is back. I hope they continue to play though him as the main hub going forward. As for Amen, if he ever develops his shot he could challenge Alpi for the best Rocket however both he and Alpi are so unselfish they will work together amazingly no matter what. I do not see there ever being an issue about who the top dog is because either would defer to the other without issues when it is needed.
