It seems that our roster is already set.. Can we still expect some moves? Does CD still finding a way to move Spoon or Taylor just to ease some cap space?
I think we are done, if we are not playing well or someone goes down we could trade b4 the deadline durring the season..
No we are going to trade Clarence Weatherspoon in a three way deal to New York for Peja. Then we are going to trade our second round pick for Tim Duncan.
At first I would have been the first to say Spoon needs to go.. but now with our roster have a solid backup at every position. we need a guy like spoon and padgett that gonna come in and give it there all EVERYTIME... plus now we have a 12 team roster yao tmac jj howard ward lue sura boki mo-t deke spoon padgett maybe we can add one or two people for the constant injured list but i think this 12 is good enough..
I'd like to get Skita and White to shore up the 3, in a deal with the new TE and a player, if possible. I want Boki to be the man, but I have no good reason to project nba starter performance. With JJ's age, and career (previous to last year's solid outing) erratic performance, I'd prefer he play in a backup role. Skita would be a little gamble and insurance at 4/3, White would be additional insurance at 3. Denver was rumored to be looking to dump Skita, and we could help with the new TE. The deal is better especially if we could broker with an Atlanta or Charlotte or so on to dump Lue/Spoon. ....................... Taylor is trade bait, if any team decides they want him. I'd swap him out for Antonio Davis or Antonio Daniels and Jerome James or any of those deals we've talked about. Maybe something will shake up by the trade deadline. ............................ I think we have 13 spots filled - we have two spots left for nbdl guys like Tmo or Tierre Brown.
It's a threeway to NJ. Get ur facts str8 Don't forget the cash we're recieving for takin that albatross duncan.
I concur. Yao's not going to play 40 minutes a night, and Deke has had some health problems in the past couple of seasons. I'd like to see us pick up a third string center just in case. It shouldn't cost more than league minimum.
I'd like to add a backup player at the swing position (Jumaine Jones, George Lynch type... Just a tough rebounder/defender). Other than that though, I think we'll be okay.
I think they're done, except filling the last 2 slots. They're doing away with the injured list and making the roster 15 players, right? So, I expect two minimum wage guys and that's it.
I don't see any deals out there that would greatly improve our team. Spoon and Taylor and play backup minutes at the 5 if needed. I wouldn't mind getting a Jon Berry in exchange for a Lue.
mo t and spoon playing backup at the 5? Isnt Spoon liek 6'5" or something? Plus mo t cant rebound for squat. >.< I think we should try to trade spoon or a mo t for a pf/c. after that i think we can breath a little easier.
The coach is excellent, and this year the team will reflect him more clearly. Results will speak or themselves -- I expect they'll challenge for home court, in the very least.
Although i have been saying that i think were going to make another trade i would guess now that were done. I think a PF will be traded during the season though.
I think we've got every position locked down except for point guard. Having said that, I dont see any more trades on the horizon, we'll probably just have to make do with what we've got and hope for the best. I'd love to be proven wrong.
I've been thinking the same thing. Jones is in a logjam at the 2/3 in LA and the Lakers could use a little help in the big men department. I think both Mo and Spoon make too much for an easy swap for Jones though. If we do make a move I would either like the team to trade one of our backup 4's and Lue for a nice combo guard, or either Mo or Spoon for a nice swingman like Jones.
